Must ask TPC..what that 'duck' like calling indicates.  It's not alarming, sounds like a steady quacking noise.  ::)

Yep, I keep them on when I'm looking at the chicks in Wpg. That way, I can pretend that I'm hearing ours.

It is pretty cool to see that Pchemist...
I loved watching when the hunter came in with prey while one was calling from the ledge...Adult on the ledge would fly off to then swoop around to meet with mate to grab lunch and then we could see the adult from the distance fly up to the ledge with prey in talons.  8)

I know I've said this before, and I will probably say it again...  I just LOVE when I get to see mom or dad swoop down below the perch and off into the distance.  it is so freaking cool it's hard to believe.   ;D

I wish this worked like my TV and I could rewind and pause and stuff.  I don't ask for much!

dunno.  mom or dad is on the perch (you can just see the tail to the left) and they were vocalizing a bit earlier before mom flew off (cool to see that).  the chicks may be screeching "stop using me for a pillow, I told you no" over and over, since they keep rearranging themselves.   ;)

What the heck are they all screeching about?!  I was playing a game, and shut it down fast because I thought something bad was happening -- went in to look.

and, I have to admit, sometimes I wish I had the sound off when a poop shot happens.  It's slightly disturbing to actually hear it.   :-\

I agree, Pchemist!  ;D

It's time for some nest-cleaning.  That is getting pretty disgusting.

no more detours!

must be warm in Elk River - the kids are separating and face plant-splayed out on the pebbles.

I know the feeling.  ugh.  hot here today too, and still humid (for us).

whole lotta preening going on by mom on edge of box in the sun (pretty sure it's mom based on high speckles on chest).  Kids are still in pile and you can see there are some dark feathers coming in and their wings are looking stronger.  Amazing how quickly they change!
