Two - then one. Lots of screaming, and it looked like one swooped down from above and landed on the outer framework, out of sight. Then two swept off from above , down and away - parents, maybe?

I don't remember when they fledged last year.  Yes, it does seem earlier this year.  There's 2 now in the nestbox; I missed him coming in.

36 days old, is that the same age as when they fledged last year? somehow it seems much quicker this year...

The lone chick is standing on the ledge flapping his wings.  He's getting ready for the big jump to join his brothers.  They're 36 days old today.  I'm always sad to see them go.

this nestbox is full of surprises 

based on what happened last year, we can all hope they are below the box on the edge and that the Elk River people will post a note (and pictures/!)

Where did they go!  The one left sitting on the edge of the nestbox looks like he want to join his brothers...wherever they are.  Keeps leaning forward, stretching the neck out, lifting a foot.

Ohhh I can only see one of the chicks in the nestbox...hope they are on the ledge off camera...this is so exciting (and scary)

  Great pics Alison, of the 3 amigos.  I looks hot there since the chicks are panting.  These guys are hilarious.  Parents' been just dropping food off and letting them duke it out for the grub.  The screaming tug-o-wars are so funny.  There's one that likes to stare into the camera and make faces.

All three chicks were active today, and doing quite a bit of wing flapping.

first thing I saw when checking in this morning. up on the edge and looking quite confident! another week or two and it'll be a different world here...
