The light is getting too low in the west to find Bella with the skycam.  She flew again just before 2000h CT heading south - may just have gone across the street or may have swung around - the MTS Centre gives her a nice big empty space to glide more safely & the winds are light.

Will lol around again for her tomorrow morning.

So on Day 40, Bella hops out of the nestbox onto the ledge not with a great deal of grace but nice and solid. She spends a few hours nappin on the cool, clean (have ya seen that nestbox 🤢) and then like her predecessors she wanders through one of the cutouts in the louvres and disappears. We have had other chicks that we don't see again for a week or 10 days when they fly back into the nestbox. This one, almost 24 hours later she hops back onto the nestbox and resumes her favourite perch and waits for mom or dad to arrive with a snack!  If she can continue along this kind of trajectory then she could do well  (🤞🏻 knock on wood).

Not going to be long before Bella figures out that she can sit on the edge of the nestbox like parents ... that's when I keep my fingers crossed for a week or ten days of light or no wind days ....

I've been working on names for the Radisson chick and I've been getting hung up on just one - Bella. Why Bella - one is Baby Ella but more than that, while Ella is a good looking bird, Pandemic has inherited his dad Annie's good looks and his grandfather Beau's as well. Beau was absolutely gorgeous. So Bella from the Latin meaning "beautiful" and Baby Ella in the hopes she inherit's her mothers mothering skills and sheer bloody-mindedness.(aka stubborness)

Haven't found any themes or names and certainly nothing that has stuck in my head like Bella, so I think that is what's he is supposed to be named.  It's funny, when there are more chicks in a nest it seems easier than when there is just one - go figure!
