Was there a fledge watch set up?
Were volunteers asked for?
Funny that neither of these happened.

Lots of us that would have been happy to be there.
Too bad, as some of the drama could have been prevented by seasoned
watchers who know, through experience, what to do, how and when to react.

The Project has not arranged for formal volunteer fledge watch patrols (continuous surveillance from dawn to dusk for 7-10 days) since the early 1990s.  The webcam came online in 2006 and in 2009 an informal, more social fledgewatching began at the Radisson with folks arranging when they would meet up with others and we added a fledgewatch board to the Forum so folks could make plans without having to share them publicly on the web.  Since 2011, this social fledgewatching has been more sporadic and spontaneous but we have kept the fledgewatch board and some members have continued to stay active when their schedules allow and the weather cooperates.

If folks are looking for others to meet downtown to watch/look for the birds, let me know and I'll add you to the fledgewatch board.  If you are just wanting to keep up on sightings, you don't need to join the fledgewatch board, observations will be posted on the Radisson board.

Thanks, Dennis.  That's what happens when the cam keeps freezing up.  There one minute, "gone" the next.

I think the third one might have just fledged as well.

So happy to still see the remaining chick. Thanks Dennis for confirming the 2nd fledge. I guess I should know things can happen in a split second. ;D

Just checked the cam and there is one birdie sitting on the edge of the nest box.

Jazzerkins is correct and the other two have fledged...TPC can check the recorder for time stamp on that.

Again, I stepped away from my computer, came back and the last chick is missing. Three fledges in 12 hours? I'm already feeling the effects of empty "nest" syndrome.

When I checked in a short while ago, I saw major wingercizing and wing drops. Stepped away for a few seconds and then there were...one. I had only seen two so I assume Dixon fledged earlier. Hope to hear more definitive news soon. Happy Canada Day!

Good - So all present and accounted for.  :) They can play on the walkway for a few days before they leave.  8)
Perfect scenario would be - when they DO leave, they all come back every night for bed time - like they did a few years ago. That was awesome!  ;D

It *was* awesome. I missed the entire "babies to banding" stage this year, except through photos and videos, so it would be nice to see them on the cam for awhile longer. And I wish they would play on the walkway and wingercize until they have the strength to fly well. There has already been enough drama with fledging (or not) to last the season.  :P

It was! From your mouth to their ears, ballywing!
