It would be very nice if this snow put an end to any consideration of the east side nestledge for this year!
Would make having a blast of winter as an April Fool's gift forgivable!

The pair are parked on the east-side Hydro sign out of the wind right now - female on the "i", male on the top of the logo.

No eggs yet - have a clear view into the nestbox and on the east-side ledge and both are clear now.  Can't see a scrape on the ledge and there is scraggly vegetation from last year there, so hoping the nice, pronounced nestscrape in the box will be the winning location.  These two may nest a wee bit earlier than usual as they got back a wee bit earlier than usual.  ;)  Or maybe not, just have to wait and see.

Been downtown just about every evening this last week - one very white breasted birdie plainly visible from the street sitting on the nesting box.

The female, who I do think is Princess, has been working daily on the scrape in the nestbox and it is a nice size now - something that Smiley hasn't been able to accomplish on his own this year or last.  This might be an excellent indication that she is seriously considering the nestbox this year.  However (and you knew there would be one) someone visited the nestledge for the first time that I have been able to observe this season ... just one bird and it didn't stay more than a couple of minutes.  The pair have been copulating quite energetically over the last week, so we are perhaps going to have eggs a bit earlier than usual here, but it isn't up to me, so we will just have to see ...

Here is a decent screen capture despite the flat light that makes me think that perhaps Princess may be home ...

... but she's had lots of girls over the years, though so far no one has had a crown like hers ... will keep working on getting that band number.

Both their band numbers though I'm 99% sure the male is Smiley - have 2 of 3 digits confirmed which means the odds are more than good.

Would love to be able to see the screen capture, but this is all that shows up on my screen . . . not sure why.

Glad that two birds are back. I do hope that they are Princess and Smiley.

Glad I went back and checked a couple of other cam angles - our roaming male decided to test the Radisson male's resolve this morning ... Radisson male got at least one good hit in on a flyby but Roaming Male managed just fine ... nervy little male is our Roaming Male ... going to be interesting to see who he might be ...

All the while Dennis has been chasing peregrines (post owling of course) today, Radisson male and female look to have been serenely hanging out at the Radisson.  Going to check the recorder just to be sure thought.

At the moment (1418h) she is on the east side Hydro sign which continues to reinforce the possibility that it is Princess as that is one of her favs.  Male is parked on the west side nestbox edge as is Smiley's preference so again, reinforces that identity too.  Maybe with the sun and warmth they will be more willing to show me some leg!!
