If folks are interested in a road trip and don't mind bundling up, this might not be a bad day for raptors despite the potential for snow - maybe not tons of peregrines but maybe even some of those.  The wind is from the south which all north-bound birds like to take advantage of and it is the right time of the season for raptor movement - even though some birds are back a bit faster than usual.

Here's a note from one of the organizers that I received ...

Hawks and eagles are winging their way northward and it is time again to look forward to the annual Raptor Festival. The festival site is nestled in the Pembina Valley, more specifically in the hamlet of La Riviere. A beautiful setting to watch raptors and other migrating birds. Last year's event was a great success with over 500 people in attendance. This year's festival should be just as good, particularly given the early spring we are experiencing. There will be pretty much something for everyone at the festival: displays, live raptors (hawks and owls), kids activities, a photo contest and display, an art raffle, a food concession and guided bird walking tours. A special treat this year will be public presentations on birds by Dr. Christian Artuso. The festival is a great way to introduce kids and grandkids to the world of raptors. The price is right too - its Free!
