Came back to the city yesterday, after a week long vacation. When we took our usual afternoon/evening drive we found Beatrix hanging out on the east side of the Diner, in the shade.

Today, at the right place at the right time....

As there is no blue tape on the right leg, I am assuming this is the younger of the girls.
If TPC could confirm, the fourth photo show a 52 on the band.

Girls are doing well - they were both back at the nestbox this morning a couple of times - one time to fight over food - well fight and then share since there seemed to be plenty for both.

Both of the chicks were at the nestbox first thing this morning when it was misty/foggy.  Then they took off it seems for the south end of the building where we can't see them.  They both appeared again before noon, but nothing again until it got too dark to see with the cameras.  Will check again tomorrow morning to see if they come by for their morning snack.  They looked pretty slick on their landings and take-offs, strong and sure of what they were doing.

Both of the West Winnipeg girls are fine - the both toddled into view when a meal was dropped off.  So both have been off and back on safely a couple of times in the last 24 hours.

Well we know where both the chicks were first thing this morning and they were fine and about 10 feet away from each all night.  I am just looking at the older chick who has figured out how to fly off and back again in calm air so so far so good.  The younger chick is fine as well, she just bombed past the camera way above roof height so she has figured out how to gain altitude though she hasn't yet perfected her precision landing skills.  Give her a couple of days though and she'll be a pro.

Basically, all is good at West Winnipeg right now ...
