Melee bird hasn't been back but went through the recordings frame by frame and definitely NOT Beatrix - think it might be Spencer or Kelly based on what I can see of the leg bands (on the opposite legs from Beatrix and Ty) and that it was a female - and those are the only two around town.  Unless it is a complete outlier, someone we haven't seen all year ... possible.  Will let you know if I manage to get more info.

Wow, action continues till the end. Thanks for catching that.

Just wish I could have seen who it was defending.  No way to tell who was attacking, much too fast.  Unfortunately, the defender kept her/his feet out of camera range.  If it is someone new, maybe they will come back (sans the fighting) and I'll get another chance to get an ID.

Bit of a melee at the nestbox just after 4pm today.  There was a female, who I assume was Beatrix but can't be sure, was under aerial assault that was so fast I had to slow the recording down to see it buzz by.  She didn't give an inch though - and she was serious, every time the bird buzzed by she jumped up trying to catch the attacker with her feet!  Very serious business this late in the season which is what makes me wonder if it was Beatrix or an interloper ... pretty sure I saw a black band but was happening so fast and not within range of the cameras.

Nice photo of Tuppence! :D

Yesterday, when checking out the area, we only found Beatrix at the Tower.

Today at about 4 pm, both Beatrix and Ty were on the east side of the Diner. A while later when we came back to the area at about 5:30 pm, Ty was on the Tower and Beatrix was still on the east side of the Diner.

she is quite light in color. We are in the middle of cold and rain.

Glad she is doing well.  :-*

Tuppence was in the nestbox this morning - looking a bit damp - went off wandering onto the roof - looking for snacks perhaps, Tiggy and Tuppence used to eat on the roof after they were old enough to leave the nestbox

I know Bev, I couldn't quite make it out either. One of the pictures seemed to show the "M", but since the girls are M52 and M53, it wasn't much help.

Checked out the site today at about 2-2:30 pm. I spotted Beatrix on the south sign of the Diner, with one falcon flying very high over the site in slow, lazy circles, drifting to the southwest. I circled about the arean and came back to the Diner when I saw a falcon fly to the NW corner. Turned out to be Beatrix again. She didn't stay long and flew off to the northwest.

Returned from vacation yesterday about 6 pm. Stopped by the Diner on the way home and spotted one chick on the east sign. She was looking very relaxed and in no hurry to go anywhere.

thanks for the lengthy reply.

Was not my intention to question rahab, just was wondering how Tiggy was prepared  before release . And I see they did prepare her for hunting. that is all I was concerned about.

I am sure she will do well .

Your question was the perfect opportunity to provide more information on Tiggy's recovery Bev - thanks for asking it!!  :D
