Just checked in to see storm well underway and chicks off the ledge, hopefully tucked away somewhere safe and dry :-*

Haven't been on the forum for a while but wanted to say how gorgeous the three musketeers in Brandon are! I also love the brownish coloring of these little sweethearts.

If you haven't done so yet Ellie, go to the CBC Falcon Cam page and vote in the Name the Chicks contest - voting ends tomorrow at noon.

"Severe Thunderstorm Watch" for Brandon since 3:11 pm.
I have a feeling it will arrive in the next 2-3 hours, so please do not fly too soon, you beautiful little birdies!

Chicks are 38 days old today.  Radisson male (Tenzing) didn't fledge until he was 40 days old so hopefully the two males here will wait until then and continue to practice their short flights across the rooftop.  Radisson female (Hillary) didn't fledge until she was 44 days old.  Neither has had any problems which is exactly what we wish for all of this year's chicks!!

I also love the brownish coloring of these little sweethearts.  I notice that at least one of them has a transmitter.....or do all three have them.  What about West Wpg? Transmitters?  Considering all the storms and heavy rains all the young'uns have fared very well. Have a good fledge!

I don't know what it is about that juvenile coloring...but I absolutely love it!

Such a rich warm colour.

Kids are still by the hackbox ... I expect them to get more active soon, they usually do by this point in the afternoon.

Finally found the kids.. they are in the shade by the old hack box - they can lie on wood rather than the roofing material which I have to think, even in the shade can sometimes be quite warm ...

Only caught a glimpse of one of the chicks this morning preening on the north wall.  Usually by this point most if not all are tucked down in the shade to ride out the morning sun and I assume that is where they are now, just can't see them with the camera - probably in the shade between two of the skylights if I had to make a guess.

Weather for today ...

Day - Partly cloudy in the morning, then clear. High of 26C. Winds less than 5 km/h.
Night - Overcast. Low of 15C. Winds less than 5 km/h.
