I thought I just saw an eggshell on far side of Princess, and then she shuggled and turned and faced the camera and saw one chick and one egg at the front of her breast before she shuggled and hid them.  So, maybe another chick has hatched . . .  ??? :D

I think that is the same eggshell that tripped me up a couple of hours ago Stormy ... would be nice if chick 2 hatched when it wasn't raining but I don't think they listen to us  ::)

Kind of tricky to feed the little one when he/she is lying flat on the gravel. ::)

If I could know who the chick was at banding age I'd consider calling him La-Z-Boy except that I'd have to use the US pronounciation  :D  Maybe "Chesterfield" or "Davenport", maybe "Divan" ... ?

Well now..."SK" or "ER" has a nice ring  :P ;)

I should mention to folks that it isn't cold outside right now - wet and windy but not really cold which is a unforeseen bonus.

Hm, I thought that bird was looking too dry to be Princess - and the white breast also would mean Ivy - looks like Princess is back now though, if so I missed another switch - or maybe it was her all along - at least she had a break, hope the rain holds off for a while!  ;D

These two have this worked out - he sits waiting for her to yell when the rain stops, he rushes in with food for chick and for Princess and does a little brooding while she takes care of a quick meal and then she's back on the chicks again.  It may be raining but it really isn't different from when they use the nestbox, Ivy has a hard time hanging out with the kids for the first few days.  The adults look fine and the chick looked fine as well - looked dry and not weak or sluggish.  We have another day to go, but so far so good ...

Ballywing,
One peregrine came in with a morsel and the peregrine on the nest vocalized and then took the morsel off camera. A peregrine without a morsel came back to the nest and took over the nesting - I think Princess is now on the nest because this peregrine looks larger. There was one little, wobbly, white fluff complaining and leaning on the other three eggs. I wondered if the egg further away from the camera and closest to the corner, looked a bit different.  :-\ Maybe another chick soon.

Hey, now they're saying SUNNY on Saturday! - That's an improvement at least!  :)
Going down to 6 tomorrow night though, after a wet day that's pretty cold. Wish we could just fast forward to Saturday right about NOW!  :P

Had another look at the weather map and I think we will have a decent break in the rain in a little while - maybe an hour?
Princess looks wet but used the spy cam and she looks wet but good from that angle as well.

If you want to check out the radar for yourself, go to the Environment Canada Weather Office webpage and click on the radar tab for Winnipeg and have a look for yourself.

1657h

Rate has dropped a bit, hopefully more is on the way ... 13mm so far ... max rate of 5mm/hr for about 10 minutes ... now it is less than 1/2 that rate ..

In comparison with 2008, less than 10mm/hour for 2.5 hours, then 12mm/hr for 3.5 hours followed by 25.5mm/hr for 1 hour then just little spits after that ...

If it's going to rain for 3 days, it would be very helpful to at least have some light or better yet,  'stop' periods in between so hopefully you're right TPC!!  8)

I'm far from an expert reading radar weather maps, but it looks like we might just be passing/have passed through the worst of the current storm front ... going to see if the rainfall rate starts to drop shortly ...
