I'm fairly sure the second chick is in the shade against the wall in the white area.

have you been able to see the  second chick on the ledge?  Is that it laying face down in the shade?

Chick one went off cleanly at 0619h this morning ... have been panning around downtown looking for chick but nothing yet (not always easy to find!) but will go back and check the recording to see if I can figure out who it was - assumption is that it was the male but ...

Looks like only one.  If there are fledge watchers out there, they will likely let people know what is going on.  :-\

I can only see one of the kids this morning.  Is one hiding?  Or did one fly this morning?

I have to admit, I have not observed much wingersizing from either of these two. :-\

2211h
Both chicks still on the ledge, one on the drain cover (looks bulky - female?) and one below in the corner against the wall.

This pair seems to want to do nothing much - not even very much wingersizing going on today.  Lots of looking at the world, napping and eating once in a while.

Looks like the little girl does not like to share food with her brother.  She just grabbed it from the parent and ran away with it.  He just sat there looking at her, then jumped onto the drain to see if he could get a bite or two.

Wings on the ledge edge-sitter still seem pretty heavy...not ready yet I'm guessing... :-\

Both kids are safe and sound and are up and watching the world - one on the drain cover, on on the ledge edge.

Rad and Sunny are good for me unless something more appropriate comes along.

Maybe this was covered earlier, but missed it..about names.
Will Rad and Winnie ever get names or is this only if they are banded?

I don't have a problem naming the chicks even if they don't get banded but probably best to see if they have any particular personality traits that might make their naming more memorable rather than just convenient.  And at the moment, we assume they are a male and a female based on size but considering that both the chicks are still on the ledge and it is Day 40 today.  Often male chicks leave before 40, but the longer the better as they get stronger each day and hopefully more able to stay out of trouble when they do take their first flights!!

Note - we won't be calling any chicks Winnie as I realize that one of our first out-of-province nesters was a Winnie - she was in Omaha, Nebraska with Zeus at the Woodmen Building and typically produced 5 eggs a year!  Figure it would do her a disservice if we named another chick by the same name!
