Good find, Susha!
For convenience, here it is again:

Do you have plans for a "Tuppernestbox" here, TPC? ???

At the moment, no Kinderchick.  We are thinking that we will just let Princess, Ivy and the soon-to-be-chicks be until we need to disturb them to band them and hope that Mother Nature is ambivalent and that Princess continues to do what she does best.  Having said that, there is more gravel on the roof (remember we emptied out the tuppernest) and it is deeper in that corner such that there is a decent scrape showing there right now.  Princess and Ivy are experienced adults and they chose to forgo the nestbox this year so we are thinking we will just let them do what they do best for the time being.   Chicks are due to hatch about the 25th, some light rain is forecast in the next two weeks (most before the hatch date) and temperatures are in the mid to high twenties range around the hatching.  The implied part of your question Kinderchick is "could we put a tuppernest in place if we decided we had to" and the answer to that is that yes, we do have plans for that, but it will depend on the availability, weather, equipment, timing etc. so even with a plan, we could still be unable to put it into action.

Sorry, not the straight forward answer I think you were hoping for ...

Hi Tracey- have you abandoned the idea of putting in a Tuppernest?  If I remember, it was installed last time while they were still eggs.  As the eggs will be hatching within days, I was assuming that no Tuppernest?

She even headed into the dead weed section for a bit of gardening, but is now back on the eggs.

Princess is so intent on pebble picking, she is off the eggs.

Four intact eggs.

Looks like Ivy on the eggs now.  :)

It is - first shift change was at 0554h and then at 0913h Princess took over again.  Looking at the eggs both time, they all look intact as far as I can tell.

Princess is pretty relaxed at the moment and seems to have been all day.  And she's letting Ivy incubate a lot still, so I suspect that nothing will happen tonight but we'll have to see what the new light brings ...

She certainly looks calm for a recent hatch.

Time will tell!
Time sure will tell, just hope we don't have any thing going on while we are sleeping tonight, and we miss it.  You can sure feel the excitement as we get closer!  ;D

I haven't seen Princess doing the egg shuffle like she does when the eggs are hatching, so maybe not, but what do I know?:-X
Okay, well maybe not. I just thought that one of her eggs, the one closest to her chest, looked like it might be cracking a bit. :-\ But it could have been some debris stuck to it or a shadow or something like that. ::)
