From all the reports, it does sound like this couple really works well together.  I can't believe Brandon is still having frost.  OMG.  A few more days, and then the fun begins.   ;D

Hurricane was on the louvered ledge on the back of the Scotia building around 2:30 this afternoon.

Looks like a nice sunny day for incubating in Brandon.

Great pictures RCF - gives us an idea of how enclosed and sheltered the nest area really is.

There is sunlight and blue skies in Brandon!!!!

Didn't last very long, back to clouds and wind and frost tonight when it clears. :( but we really haven't had a lot of rain in the last two or three days (1/2 inch) just a lot of strong wind that makes the rain seem like a lot more. Better days ahead for hatch time. :)

Nice and dry at the Brandon nestbox right now, no wet spots on the outside rail at all and the Hurricane is tucked down in the corner (where they always are) pretty as a picture.

Hurricane sure has taken a pounding this evening, with all this nasty rain.

Its blowing quite a bit in Brandon right now and although Hurricane is out of the rain, there is rain getting blown in on her.  She's refusing to open her eyes and protest however.  Looking at the local Brandon weather report from the Airport, wind is ENE 39km/h gusting up to 50km/h.  That would put the wind blowing rain and everything else right into the nestbox.  Light rain continues tonight and tomorrow and then lets up and the wind will be clocking away to the south.  Looks like it may be sunny/cloudy through the week but little chance of rain until next Sunday.  Bit long in the forecast, but who knows, might work out.  Chicks aren't due until the end of the first week in June at the earliest so we'll have to wait a bit longer to see whether what kind of weather they will hatch into ...

Hurricane may be like her Mum in volume but she sure likes having Brooklyn share baby duties!!  Much more so than her mother or her sibling Radisson in Edmonton!!

Brooklyn certainly can be seen on the eggs almost as much as Hurricane and at times maybe more? He usually is right there when she calls. A modern day Dad maybe? ;)

And a Mom who's willing to share more than equally - that may be the more uncommon part.  Perhaps it is because they are of an age or because she learned from Zeus who was an old hand, so she's always had a mate who's a bit of a stay-at-home dad - with Zeus it was because she had no idea what to do and he was a good teacher, Brooklyn because he's a very attentive mate.  Nice combination for them since she's as big as other females, they get to share the physical stress of raising young a bit more.

It will be interesting to see once the chicks hatch if this share continues in the same way.  Last year was just so tough for these two, this year will (hopefully the weather cooperates) be a more normal year and we'll get a better sense of how they operate more normally as a team.
