Someone's looking out at the big world out there, having dreams about flying off to wonderful adventures...

After a small bird was distributed and remains removed, Ivy returned empty taloned.  One chick, the same size as him, Margaret? pecked at his beak a few times, chased him outside and started to scream once he left.  The others are quietly lined up in the shade.

  It would appear that the chicks are becoming more mature and as this progression happens, they are becoming a bit more independant.  Not huddling as much but off to explore the nest box and pick at a few feathers and wings.  The feathers are growing out on their tails and wings.  They are gaining confidence on their feet and then watch them get tipsy!  haha, phanatic growth!!

In the fading light, I was going to say "huddle cuddle" but before I could, it turned into something like arguing over who gets the top bunk!

From TPC:  Radisson - we will be banding the 4 chicks on June 6th at 11am - will be broadcast live on the Falcon Cam.

All four chicks yelling at once!  three of four rushing out for the feeding.  Tony hanging back, though looks interested.

Bccs' pet name for one of the chicks was the perfect reminder (thank you Bccs)

For the new folks here, there will be an opportunity to vote on names for the chicks after we band them next week and know what gender they are.  There are usually a variety of choices and sometimes we have a theme, sometimes we don't.  The voting takes place on the CBC site and we will post a note here on the Forum and on the CBC site so folks won't miss the opportunity to participate.

For myself, I kind of thought perhaps a royal theme name?  It is Queen Elizabeth II diamond jubilee this year.   Some possible names might be from the Queen, her name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.   Buckingham, Sovereign, Monarch, Diamond, Crown, Jewel,

I like that idea!  How about Royal, or Lady?

Hahahaha, Ivy just arrived - without food - and is trying to get the kids under him.
The kids are not happy, here's Dad without a snack.
And all he can manage is one chick partially protected.

Hmm, I think it's Princess, not Ivy.

And the little boy(?) I'm calling Tony. Ever so polite, but a solid little gentleman when needs be.

The thunderstorm is here and the chicks are all up against the sheltered back of the nest box. Some yelling going on, I don't know if it's hunger, a parent near or the storm.

Chick pile in the camera corner with parent (Ivy ?) standing close by. . .head tucked to the side and looks like he's having a nap (?)

Expecting a high of 19 today with 60% chance of afternoon/evening thunder showers.
