Okay here are the steps ...

Register for an Photobucket account ...

1.  Go to www.photobucket.com
2.  Click on "sign up now" and register for an account. When you have signed up, you will automatically be logged in

If you already have a Photobucket account ...

1.  Go to www.photobucket.com
2.  The "login" button is on the top right of the page ...

Now if you need to upload photos ...

3.  Click on green "upload now" button
4.  If you have albums, pick the album where you want to store your photos where it says "upload to".  If you haven't got an album, you can make one or use the one the system automatically makes for you.  You can move your photos later if you decide you want to create albums later
5.  Then click on "select photos and videos"
6.  Find your photo on your computer and click "open".  And now your photo is loaded.
(If you have lots of photos to load all at one time, you might want to check out the help section, there will be a way to load multiple images all at once rather than one at a time - but one at a time works just as well)

Now to link a photo in your album to the Forum - this is the preferred form as it includes a link back to your album so that folks can check all your photos (you took them, you deserve to show them off!)

7.  Go to the photo you want to post and double click on it
8.  Go to the right where it says "share your photo" and click on "see more"
9.  Click on "get link code" on the top tabs
10.  Go down the list that pops up and find "IMG for bulletin boards & forums" then copy the code to the left of "clickable thumbnail"
11.  Paste it here on the Forum

If you take a bunch of photos, please only post one or two here on the Forum.

Every time someone scrolls past a photo, the link makes the Forum go find the photo and displays it.  Web traffic is the amount of data sent and received by visitors to a web site - in this case, the person scrolling by the photo is traffic but so too is the photo because the Forum has to go out and get the photo.  I pay for all that traffic.  If you have ten photos, don't post them all, just post one or two and include the link to your album.  This way I only have to pay for traffic to/from 2 photos rather than 10 photos.

Another advantage is that folks can leave comments on your photos on your album which you all deserve and they will last longer on your albums than here on the Forum and that just isn't fair to you all.   And it means that folks don't have to scroll past pages of photos and kudos when they are trying to catch up on the comings-and-goings at a particular nestsite.

Looks like you folks worked it all out - sorry, had to leave for a while there.

Good teaching, TPC!

No worries Pam  ;)  Real life does tend to get in the way.  The advantage of these kinds of tutorials is that folks can ask questions and we can keep a hard copy (so to speak)

Not to worry folks, happy to help out and its easier to just do it until everyone can do it at least once.  I will post a summary of the steps just like I did at the end of the Flickr tutorial ...

just copy the code to the right of "clickable thumbnail"

the code puts a smaller image on the Forum and attaches an active link which is "clickable" that will take folks back to your photogallery ...

the "i" shouldn't be there but the rest works.  This is the first way to do it, now try the second way ...

1.  double click on your bear so it becomes big
2.  Go to the right where it says "share your photo" and click on "see more"
3.  Go down the list that pops up and find "IMG for bulletin boards & forums" then copy the code to the left of "clickable thumbnail"
4.  Paste it here
To the left of clickable thumbnail is confusing me. Have gone to the list that pops up and found IMG for bulletin board & forums. Clickable thumbnail I don't see. Do you have a screen shot. Apologize for taking up your time as this was only supposed to be an hour. So close now appreciate your help.

Not a problem LinderLou, happy to help - just give me a minute ...
