;D Such great names for our Brandon birds. As they continue to grow and change before our eyes preparing to fledge, R and R will be taking less "R and R".  :D

These are great names, TPC.  Always interesting to have the background story.

We have names for the Brandon male chicks ...

Rain - in honour of the weather this year - Annual rainfall for Brandon (since 1971) is 373.1mm.  The annual rainfall for March through June is 119.7mm.  From March to June this year, 298mm of rain has fallen - 152mm of which fell since the first Brandon chick hatched on June 2nd.  Fortunately, neither the peregrines nor Brandon had to contend with the June 2nd, 1953 storm that dropped 80mm of rain in one day in Brandon!!  Hopefully his new name will bring him luck and it will be sunny skies and dry weather ahead for him.

Rosser - in honour of the street that runs just south of McKenzie Seeds and which appears to be the street in our records that has the most observations and which provides the best view of the nestbox from the ground.    RCF tells me that Rosser Avenue was named after Thomas Lafayette (Tex) Rosser and here is his biography:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_L._Rosser.  Hopefully our Rosser will also be known for his "hit and run raids", definitely a good skill for a peregrine!

Delayed congratulations on the successful banding and two males!
TPC's detailed explanation of the new box and the successful practise run of switching location was very interesting.

Wow - just realized I hit the bullseye!!! Just lucky, since it was practically the only date left!  On the other hand, I always knew I was right..... ;D

I think the prize was garlic bread, but I don't know if that still stands and/or if you can collect it.

RCF. wonderful photos and videos.  Thank for doing that.  It was almost like being there.

Am I missing something?  When I click on Dennis' link all I get under Brandon Banding are 4 "sky" photos.  Are there more?

Nope you aren't missing anything Leana - Dennis likes to add photos gradually so that folks always have something new to look at  :)  He'll tell you when more are posted ...

Wonderful photos Dennis - RCF that was a very cool capture with the shadow.

Sure didn't take long for the new nest to be full of feathers (and I'm assuming bits of dead stuff  :-X ) lol

Looking forward to learning the names of your boys.

And don't forget about the poop art. ;D
