If there is the odd shower the puddle will remain for them to slosh in ........egads if it dries up.  I see the shade has arrived in the weed patch and they are taking advantage of it...  Good for them!  (Just thinking this is Brandons year for rain so why am I worried about the puddle drying up.........?)

You can see on the cam that they are in the shade and there is a nice little breeze. They are in the south east corner of the roof against the corner pillar so they will be in the shade all afternoon(note that the moss grows there and it likes cool shady places)

Not too  much shade from those tattered weeds!!  And it is HOT out there today :o  Hopefully they will seek shelter in their nest box if the weather gets too bad.

They also have their puddle if they get hot ...

It's pretty hot and humid this morning and even though the chicks are back in their corner they still look hot.The weeds are looking pretty droopy maybe been barreled through too many times but there seems to be lots of leftovers in case a snack is needed ;D

Rain and Rosser are in their corner garden after a little play and preen in the puddle this morning.  Think Rain is the one napping.
I suspect they will be there most the day if the temperature and humidity are as forecasted ... and maybe a thunderstorm will chase them back to the box

Currently it is 26C but with a humidex of 36C

Forecast into tomorrow ...
Today - A mix of sun and cloud. 60 percent chance of thunderstorms early this afternoon with risk of severe thunderstorms. Clearing this afternoon. Wind northwest 20 km/h. High 27c. UV index 9 or very high.
Tonight - A few clouds. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light late this evening. Low 11c.
Tuesday - Sunny. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light late in the afternoon. High 26c.

10:10 AM CDT Monday 04 July 2011
Severe thunderstorm watch for
Brandon - Carberry - Treherne issued

A cold front moving through Southern Manitoba will trigger severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of a cold front moving across Southern Manitoba this afternoon. With the warm, humid airmass in place across the region...Aided by favourable upper level winds...Some of these storms will become severe. Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the main threats with any storms that develop...However the evolving mesoscale weather situation may lead to the possibility of tornadoes later this afternoon. Environment Canada meteorologists are closely monitoring the situation and will upgrade to a tornado watch later this afternoon if the threat level increases.

The threat of severe weather will end later this evening as the cold front moves into Northwestern Ontario.

Cute little tots - one is lying down (can't tell who, sorry) and the other is standing just beside him.  What makes it cute is that they aren't tucked up in the box or against the wall or in a corner, just on a nice clear patch of the roof.  The little guy is sprawled out some which makes me wonder if he isnt' enjoying the radiant heat from the roof itself.

I can see the yellow tape on the stander, so Rain is napping and Rosser is standing guard ...
