I left Fyfe's parkade at about 8:40 this evening, no aerial display of falcons, in fact two were sitting on the roof of what I think used to be the old Eaton's warehouse...
Oh, that's to bad you didn't see any aerial displays this evening, Gingerlee, but at least you did see 2 of them in person. :D

I thought the camera was frozen, but looks like you are right RaptorGal, just a little bird nap...

;) I would just take a "falcon guess" and assume that likely it is Bea and Cade as they are the ones who are consistent on coming to the nest box for the night.  If they walk to the nest box, then we can see if Bea is indeed the one just out of cam lens.  As the one in front of it is a boy just judging by his pale head feathers and fine dark breast streaks, as I was able to see a bit earlier.  :D

Thanks bcf! I will check out "The Rules" and now I know to stay tuned frequently. I love that fact that there is always news and things to learn about the peregrines - this has been such an amazing introduction to getting to know the species that I am truly hooked (or taloned... :D)! Thanks for answering for me - much appreciated!

I can only see one, but no complaints -- at this point, it's so great to see any one of them "home" for the night! And so close, too.
ditto, And so close too!

So as I wait patiently for somebirdy to appear on screen, maybe someone can answer a few questions for this rookie...
Does the forum stay open for awhile, people to post if they have seen the family in flight?
When do the peregrines usually leave the area?
When do they come back?

ANd if anyone has any other "need to know" info, that would be very much appreciated. :D

All great questions. The forum is open unless TPC has some work to do reorganizing the threads or providing upgrades. It migrates with the Peregrines as there are Falcons in the Southern Hemisphere too. A number of people watch those webcams as well as southern webcams of other species. Many members post stories about Peregrines that they have researched so the learning continues all year. Come spring, the weather starts to get to people and there is some reasonable silliness while we start the countdown to the expected return of the familiar Peregrines. Many American and European cams will come on line during that time so these nestboxes are followed. There are always lots of surprises once the Winnipeggers and Brandonites return, pair up and jostle for territory. So the short answer is, there seems to always be something Peregrine Falcon to gab about. It's great, I hope you enjoy it! Only advice I would give someone new is to read "The Rules" which you can find on the home page. It's a good introduction to any forum.

Are there really 2 home?  I only see one on screen and can't seen anybirdie tucked up on the left of the picture...

Once in a while you will see a wing flip over the cam lens.

I saw them both there as well, just catch glimpses of the other one. Can anyone identify who they are?

The one we see preening in front of the camera is one of the boys -- light around the head and fine breast streaks.  He has a light band but my color is not good from the cam in the evening so I dont know if it is white or yellow.  ;)
