Think Princess is up on the roof, he's talking to her and looking up ... when she starts sticking to the eggs that's usually a pretty good (though not the only) sign that hatching may be imminent.

Is that why Trey wanted to be on the eggs, too?

An itchy beak waits for no egg to hatch.  Poor Ivy had to get off the eggs just now in order to give himself a huge beak scratch ...

Ivy just turned up with food and Princess started to take it, then she went to the other front corner.  Then Ivy took off with dinner and after about a minute, Princess followed him.  If I had to guess, she didn't want to leave the box even to eat so he's luring her off.  I suspect that while she is eating he'll turn up and park himself on the eggs until she returns ... we'll see if I'm right in a few minutes ...

Did I just see Princess tapping the one egg with her beak or was she just getting real close and talking to it?  :-*

No tapping, just close - and she has been playing with pebbles and picking bits off/under the eggs today ...

I think I saw Princess tapping the one egg very gently with her beak or maybe she was just getting real close and talking to it?  :-*

Princess is standing over the eggs, no sun so not keeping them shaded.  Can't hear anything other than the man-made environment around them - wind, some car noise and the occasional tap from something elsewhere on the roof.

She's having a hoover now in the corner nearest the eggs and now back on the eggs.  She's being much more delicate about shoving the eggs under her today ...

Bahahah, Ivy just pulled a Trey. He was right off the eggs at the back of the nest making things neat and orderly.
Not to worry, he got back on them when he came out of the "cleaning coma", and it's warm enough here that a little time off won't hurt.
Now if only he would do the Trey headshake.

As beautiful a bird as his dad, too.

Heard him chuffing to the eggs before he started housekeeping.

Can't seem to find a comfortable position.

For those of you wondering where the parents are ... Ivy is hoovering in the outside corner of the nestbox ... oh, now he's back ...

Shades of his father ...  ::)
