I saw a bald headed eagle flewing with two little ones playing aroung it.Can it be her babies.TPC what do you think? the eagle was not concerned by the looks of things...By the way that was in Kelowna

Not her babies I'm afraid, her chicks will be her size by the time they fly .. probably some smaller birds mobbing the eagle to keep it moving out of their territory ...  :)   Takes alot to annoy an eagle I must say ...

We have a feedling and it is quite windy up there today.  I can't hear the chicks very often as I am hearing impaired, even with my hearing aids and the sound turned up as loud as it will go. But I can sure hear Mum when Ivy brings food.

Ivy just came in. Mom must be eating off camera.

Ivy can barely cover the back of the chick pile. They look so much bigger when compared to their dad.

Yeah get use to it deedream, they are birds after all and the nest will get more and more messy as the chicks get older.

Oh I know,I've watched for years, still think its especially yucky when the carcass looked like the head of a bird half propped up, and it was in my line of vision to watch the little ones. No problem if I can put it in my peripheral vision. LOL

I can hear and see the rain dripping from the box top edge.  Whoa, I think that was a lightening flash!  Yes, there's the thunder.  Sounds like a good bit of wind, and now a real cloud burst.

I see a glimmer of white breast and with another flash, can see Princess is alert,  with her wings slightly spread to increase the shelter room underneath.  Her front and the chicks under her are out of the rain.

What a miserable night of weather in Winnipeg!  Hooray for the nest box and the maternal instinct to protect her young.

Thanks for all of the greetings! My class loved hearing them as did I. I am planning on having the website up on my Smart Board tomorrow all day as my class is as anxious to catch a feeding as I am! We will try for first thing in the morning for sure. My class is a grade 4/5 class and they have loved showing the website to other classes in the school - I love hearing them use words to explain such as "shuggle"! What an amazing educational experience - for all of us!
I sure hope this nasty weather doesn't affect the little ones - and we sure cannot believe how fast they have grown.
Thanks Kinderchick - luckily I can get the website all of the time at my school, so we will be checking for breakfast!

This was just before the last feeding, all four little fluffies mostly under Mom.

...Just wanted to say how great it is to read all the information that is posted about the new family. My classroom and I have been watching for weeks now and it has made for great discussion and writing. Thanks to all who post info, and especially TPC - so many are so much more aware of the peregrines now and have made a faithful following.

Quick question - is there sort of a loose timing of when the chicks are fed - haven't caught a feeding yet! Do appreciate the pics though...
Great to see another teacher and classroom on the Forum, Chickita! :D You will find a wealth of information here. As for feedings, when I am able to access the webcam from my classroom, my Kindergarten students have been able to catch sight of a few feedings around 8:20 AM. Don't know for sure if this is a typical time for a feeding, but that's when we've been lucky enough to see one. Saw a feeding with my students at that time this morning, in fact. 8)

Another feeding, yum, yum! ;)

Ivy just brought more food, something with really long legs, Princess chupped at him and he left with it.
