Yes, anxious to hear some news! - Hope Bea doesn't play 'Hide & Seek' for a couple of days like her brother Carson did!  ::)

We are mere bit players in this scene who are most fortunate to be able to peripherally partake in the migration, nesting and fledging of a few pair of falcons.  The Project has always welcomed our participation and we should be grateful.....lest we lose the priviledge.

Very well said, Cathy179! Although we haven't seen posts from you often, I see that you've been a member from 2008. So you'll probably understand what I mean when I say that, the longer I belong and participate, the more I realize how much I don't know. Every year, standing on the street looking up at one or more of these amazing birds, I am very grateful to be allowed to play my very small part.

Very well said both of you, Cathy179 & Saoirse

Today I have seen some questioning, dare I say criticism, by some of the members of this forum regarding the placement of radio transmitters on some of the young birds born in this province.  Let's all remember that The Peregrine Falcon Recovery Project is all about helping these magnificent birds return to their more normal numbers which were decimated over the past several decades.  We are not dealing with a bunch irresponsible researchers here...these are topnotch scientists who feel that information gathered in this manner will enhance the knowledge they already have gathered and further enhance the recovery of the birds.  If they decide to place transmitters on the birds you can be sure it was only after weighing many pros and cons which might occur. We are mere bit players in this scene who are most fortunate to be able to peripherally partake in the migration, nesting and fledging of a few pair of falcons.  The Project has always welcomed our participation and we should be grateful.....lest we lose the priviledge.

Yup, 0743h, Beatrix took off pretty as you please.
No wind this morning and perfect temperatures so she couldn't have chosen better.
Hijacking the cam now, Dennis is on the ground so more news shortly we hope ...
Any news, Dennis?

Yes, that would be nice if there were some news of Beatrix's whereabouts. I guess they will tell us when there is some.

I was on my way to the Corydon Ave. area this afternoon and was sure that I could see 2 birds on the top of the Manitoba Hydro Bldg.

Two boys or males would be Carson and Ivy unless Cade was released. Probably son and pop situation.

Hey Cooper, that's great to hear! After a long day not knowing where any of them are, it's really good to know that at least two of them were seen.

Thanks RCF for the video. Wonderful to see.

I can tell you that I did see two of our birds at about 1:30 p.m. on the Manitoba Hydro building east side, sitting atop the letters (can't remember which letters now). Not sure who they were. I didn't have binocs with me. I'd guess they were both boys because they seemed on the smaller side, but I wouldn't swear to it.

Oh, Ellie, thanks for reminding me about Carson.
We do still have one more to watch.
Bet he will be gone, though, in the blink of an eye!

It surely is difficult to look at that empty nest/ledge..........just hoping that Carson will be put back into the nest to fledge from it again.
