Now the other thing I am sure people are wondering is how you are holding up Tracy?

Thank-you Tracy for your prompt reply many of us have been wondering all day how the parents were and if they were still in the area.

Thank you so much for the update.  I was asking the same question in a post above at the same time this was probably being posted.  I can't stop thinking about them and I'm glad they've been spotted and together as well.

The one thing that sticks out in my mind amidst this tragedy in our Falcon family is that during the time when we all were waiting and watching was that the Webcam and the forum didn't crash with the deluge of people watching. I can't remember the numbers but I recall something like 80 people were viewing this forum this morning at one point.

I did see both Trey and Princess for a brief moment when the rain let up some just before I left the Hotel in the late afternoon.  Neither one went to the nest ledge.  I will be back at the Hotel tomorrow to see if I can spot them, and Larry is going to try to hook me back up to the spy-cam on the roof so that I can watch for them from another, higher angle.

Will let you all know what I see ....

I just realised someone asked this in another thread. Good to know. Thanks so much for everything, Tracy.

I'm so sorry about the loss of the chicks and I'm so grateful that so much effort was put into trying to rescue them. Even though it didn't work out, everyone, especially Tracy and Kyle, deserve to be commended. I haven't been able to bring myself to read through all of the Observations thread or to look at the cam feed (if it's still on), so I'm not sure if this has been answered, but it would make me feel better to know that both Princess and Trey are ok. Have there been any sightings of them?

Here's hoping for another clutch this year (but if not, I'll be back for sure next spring).

I have been watching your beautiful little ones for the past week and I too was devestated today as I have had the web cam up at work on my desk top every day while I work.  I just registered a few minutes ago so I could post here and share the grief with all of you.  I am located in Etobicoke, Ontario and we have a pair of falcons on our building and their 3 little ones will be flying any day now and I had hoped the same for your little guys.

Has anyone seen Princess or Trey since it happened?  I know it sounds silly but I am worried about them.  Watching Princess today sitting on those poor babies right until the end just broke my heart and when I saw how calm she was when the rescuer arrived I knew it wasn't good and I expect she probably knew otherwise she'd have raised heck.

It has been a real learning experience for me this year watching all these beautiful falcons online - the way they love, nurture and protect their children is such an awe inspiring thing to watch.

It's been a pleasure to read all the nice posts here today and to everyone who worked so hard to rescue the babies - you are all wonderful people and I am so sorry that today's events had such a tragic ending.

I did see both Trey and Princess briefly before I left the Hotel late this afternoon.  Both were wet, subdued, and not on the nest ledge.  I will be back downtown tomorrow morning to see what I can see and Larry is going to help me re-establish our connection to the spy-cam so that I have a view from higher up.

I will post what I see here tomorrow.

Just saw the picture, Skypilot -- really lovely to see that moment. Princess' strength and patience speaks volumes. She is an amazing mum.

Thanks, Liz, for filling in  some info on Tracy's interview this afternoon. We didn't get it here (at least not that I know of ) seeing as Manitoba is not our region.

I will always remember the chicks making their little teepee and that wonderful moment when the third egg hatched and Princess helped! :)

Tracy, since the chicks were removed from the ledge has anyone from the team yourself or someone else seen P or T and what their behaviour has been since that time? I know bird don't react like we humans but they surely sense a loss or change in their routine?

Well said, Skygirlblue.

I've just come back home as well, and viewed the article and video as I discovered the sad events this morning after they'd just happened. Seeing the little photo in the article of an absolutely drenched Princess broke my efforts all day today to rationally think of it as nature taking its course and the amazing resuce attempt, but emotions truly prevailed to see Princess like that and then to watch her stay close while the fireman worked.  My heart still breaks, but reading everyone's words of wisdom, comfort, positive outlook, etc., really does show how much compassion, support, and love everyone has and has shared with each other today.  To me, that's a positive, as was the rescue attempt and the valiant fight Princess and Trey put in throughout all sorts of terrible weather.

I hope enough good thoughts from all of us will somehow help P and T try again this year!

Well said.. and seconded by me..

Now i'm going to give my parrot a hug, play with the dog, feed the turtles, and try to find some solace in the company of my pets and family.

It's a beautiful picture, skypilot.  Thanks for that.  Look at mum being so trusting of him.  Amazing.
