Well I am curious if TPC discovered yet if Trey and Princess had been digging at the bars on the chicks nest box?  She mentioned she would be checking that out.  I also wonder what that means if they have been.  Territorial thing? Or they are trying to get inside the box?
I seen the pictures but I don't think I really understood how that box worked.  The chicks were inside the box.  The adults were supposed to come and feed them through the bars? The bars were so the chicks would not fall out?  What about to protect them from a predator as well, while they were unattended and not adopted by the adults? Ithink you already said that it was not to protect them from the adults as they would not have been harmed by any peregrines?

Hi all, I read the story on the website. Short and too the point.  Oh, I could not watch that video again, it would be just too painful to watch again.  CTV had the best footage however and it gave you a very clear picture of how bad the weather was!
Oh and road kill, well, I think we all agree, its upsetting to see. Hmm, was going to say more, but realized this is not the right thread to ramble. lol :D

Started it because I'm still up.  Plus, eagle says I have to catch up to her in postings!  LOL  I wonder if we'll have anything to add to this today?

Drat ! ! !  It sounds like I missed a great meeting yesterday.  I know that I would have enjoyed Tracy's talk because I drive past the Radisson every two weeks and look up at the buildings at every stop light.  I believe that I am looking at the right signs etc. but I'm one of those unfortunate people that are completely confused by the points of a compass.  So, though I have found the nest ledge (or am I fooling myself?), I am not sure of the other places mentioned and would have loved the "tour". ???

I saw what looked to be a Peregrine fly over my car a few days ago when I was sitting at the lights on Logan just West of Main Street. It was in hot pursuit of something and was fairly low, only about 3 stories up. I'm sure Tracy could have identified "who" it was. It was a bit of a surprise to see it there after all the time spent standing on Portage Avenue staring straight up with binoculars....is this part of their range? I guess I could also be wrong and it was a Kistral. I saw it long enough to see the feather pattern and size... but I'm not an expert.

Thinking of re-starting my count-down timer on August 1st, maybe September 1st, if that helps ....   :D

How do you know the end date?

I make one up  ;D

Actually, I know approximately when the birds will return, this year's timer was set for March 30th.  Princess came back early and screwed up my "magic" but Trey, the sweetheart that he is, came back right on time.  When Princess came back early I just went into the source code and reset the timer for when we thought the webcam would go live.

I am like you Loriann.  I ger upset over roadkill also.  I get so upset when an animal of any kind is hurt or mistreated or worse.

CTV story was good last night.  I did start to watch the rescure video again but stopped.  I just couldn't watch it right through.

I am so looking forward to next year.  I hope they pick the nest box tho.  But I guess that will be up to them.

Have a great evening everyone.

Think happy thoughts Loriann, next year is a new year ... *hands Loriann a hankie*

Thanks for the hankie...   :'(  I needed one. I think its just the absolute feeling of helplessness that i felt that day, and not being in any position to help, and it all came back reading the article, and seeing the pictures.

heck, I get upset over roadkill..  :-\

At first I thought I would try to keep track of everyone's timezone but gave that one up pretty quickly ... so now, by the date unless it really can't be moved ....

Just FYI ... 8)

Hey, just don't think i have ever started a new  thread for the Radisson Peregrines...... and I wanted to! so There. lol    Good morning  and Good Day!   ;) ;) :D

Deedream, now it looks like I started this thread, but I think TPC just assigned it to me because I did the first post after midnight CDT.  Tonight, as the clock begins to strike twelve, get your posting fingers ready.  Oh.... that would be 2am for you, maybe you don't stay up that late every night!
