Oh I know...isn't Terminator GREAT even for a female falcon?  Gotta love it!

Terminator (T2) from Brandon is back in Grand Forks but last I heard she hadn't acquired a beau yet.
Terminator sounds like such a masculine name.  And Ivy is a male.  What is the origin/reasoning to these names?  Not complaining; curious!   ;D

Speaking of offspring in the Rochester thread....I was thinking about this the other day as a matter of fact.
Have you heard anything about how our little peregrines are doing from the past few years (skipping 2008 of course  :( )

Haven't done Allikat, but don't expect to either until about the end of April beginning of May when everyone is on their nests.  ID is not always easy and most of last year's nests are empty at the moment - other than Terminator (T2) from Brandon is back in Grand Forks but last I heard she hadn't acquired a beau yet.  No one has returned (so far as I've heard) to Edmonton, Saskatoon and Lincoln, Nebraska yet.  Actually, have only heard of the eastern birds (Canada & the US) the Fargo & Grand Forks birds.  Will see if I can't find out what's up in the rest of the Midwest and will post as we find them.

Just as a note:  I'm doing some reformatting on the whole www.species-at-risk.mb.ca website (it needs it!) and adding a couple more projects but I'm leaving the peregrine pages for a bit as they are up and running fine at the moment.  I will be adding more family tree information as well, just not sure how best to display the information or how much - but something you all will enjoy seeing ...

we walked around downtown this afternoon too, with binoculars and camera.  Checked out the radisson, paris building and the richardson building.  We didn't see a  thing today   :'(

I spent quite a while hanging around downtown with my binoculars this morning but to no avail. Interestingly, about 3/4 of the people that stopped to say something to me already knew what I was looking for. Nice to see that so many are aware of our peregrine family.

I looked back into TPC's blogs and chose 2006.  Saw a great pic of Trey that is almost identical of the picture that was taken the other day.  He was perched on the same areas as the pictures from the other day as well
It sure does look like him....I'm still crossing my fingers!!!

So far this morning it is all quiet on the eastern front, haven't seen hide nor feather of either bird.  Its cooler today and there is no sun so no reason to sit on the east-side sign.  We were going to do some work on the cams today, but we need to work out a technical problem (not big) so we are going to work it out off-site and try again later in the week.  Thought I might take a swing past the nestbox and do some housekeeping but I'm inclined to leave it for the moment.  Might change my mind tomorrow or leave it until we do the cam work ... decisions, decisions  ::)

There is a blog entry on yesterday's (March 28th's) cam adventures at the Radisson and I have posted all the photos I have for the last week in the Photo Gallery.

Enjoy!

I am so excited about the return! Do they not travel together Princess and Trey! Why would one be here and not the other? Sounds like a dumb question now that I posted it..lol
I think TPC said last year Princess came back first, then her son showed up (forget his name)  and 'Tried it On' with her, she told him where to go, and then Trey showed up after? - Or something like that? ???

There are some reports of peregrines hanging out together on migration, nestmates if I remember correctly (I'll check), but no, Trey and Princess in all probability don't migrate with one another.  This is the first year they have re-appeared on the same day, usually they are a few days apart, sometimes him, sometimes her.  Departures are the same thing, in 2007, she left a month or more before he did, last year, I think they left within a day or two of each other, but they were harder to spot on a regular basis by migration time last fall ...
