As I was walking home from work, there on the sidewalk by the post office, was the bum, legs and feet of a bird. Immediately thought of our two and wondered who just had a snack.
I managed to get my computer working, one of the tekkies at work helped me out. Had a great 8 minutes of watching. Now, I'm antsy for more. There was a window-washer scaffold sitting on Portage ave. this morning in front of the confederation bldg. We thought of surrounding it and hijacking it but figured that someone might notice. ::)

Board & thread are up and operating again.  All fixed.

1400 hrs (local) - The wind has come up and the ledge cam is getting blown around quite a bit.  Now it is higher than the ledge and with no protection.  Princess is on the eggs and she is flat to the gravel right now as the wind is catching her tail feathers a bit.  She's cross-ways on the eggs so her tail feathers are tucked up next to the ledge wall so there isn't much room there for the wind to get a good angle to "flip" her like last year.  With the eggs, not really a problem, she gets off them and gets back on them.

Forecast for tonight is chance of thunderstorms (its getting cooler and overcast so a definite chance I suspect), but looking ahead, this might be their most uncomfortable day for the next week.  Tomorrow is overcast and rainy, but not much rain overall (1 cm/ 1/3 inch) fortunately, wind is suppose to be from the west, so damp not blown and damp.  Thursday through the long (Victoria Day) weekend are partly sunny and spats of rain (0 to 1mm / 3/100ths of an inch) daily.  The winds are changeable but mostly calmer than right now - suppose to tamper off later this afternoon before shifting to the west for tomorrow.

Subject 1:
The cam will be shutting shortly shutting down.  It was launched prematurely.
We are delaying the start-up until further notice.
I will email/pm everyone when it is back up for good.

Subject 2:
This Board is locked for a short time while I do a wee bit of maintenance.  You can read but not post.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  Should only take a little bit!

Tracy
This ledge does not look too deep. When you put the thing you made in it for the rain, just how high will the babies be? Will they still be protected from strong winds and being blown out of the nest? Yikes I do worry, dont I?
