1155 hrs - same bird on the eggs, still wet, rain still on/off, still hasn't changed position.  Have to leave the cam for a bit, so with luck there will be a shift change and our drenched peregrine will get a break to dry off by the time I get back.

So far, all is well folks, just wet.  And the Hotel is still helping to block the wind, the little "wind stick" still hasn't moved and its only about a foot from our napping peregrine.

Until I started watching cams I had no idea what our birds endure.  they are truly remarkable.

I am hoping the weather settles for them so they can dry out.

a nice hut would be nice for next year, with an umbrella. :) :) :) :)

1050 hrs - Trey (we think its him) is still in position on the eggs.  Its starting to rain again, not heavy from what I can see and its alot brighter out now.  Trey's head is wet enough that when he shakes it, it looks like a ruff.  Its cute, but I wish it wasn't as a result of being so wet!  The wind is gusting more but still can't see it hitting our bird on the ledge.  Small mercies.

Taken 5 minutes ago ...  I expect we will have a shift change in the next hour, will see if I can identify who's who if I catch it of course ...

The cam has had a couple of gusts hit it over the last 1/2 hour so the wind may be shifting as forecasted, fortunately it is suppose to be coming from the northwest (the birds are on the east side) and the Hotel has provided protection from NW winds before so keep you fingers crossed.  The rain is forecasted to change to light snow this evening, which will be drier for our birds but the temps are suppose to drop to a low of -6c tonight, so colder but dry.  Winds are suppose to drop tonight and be "light" tomorrow morning.

0935 hrs (local) - looks as though the rain has stopped on the ledge, just some dripping at the moment.  Trey/Princess/whomever hasn't move more than his/her head in the last 1.5 hours.  Had a little shuggle a couple of minutes ago, but barely came off the eggs to do it.  Can't help but be impressed by the biological imperative ...

Weather is a safety issue when it comes to working on the sides of buildings so don't know if we can/might go up today, I'm working from home just in case though.  Tomorrow is suppose to be drier and with less wind so so so ...

Basically I am still working on it ...

If you look at the photo, you can see there is a piece of something caught on the top of the vent?  That hasn't moved at all this morning, just to give you an idea of how much the building is acting as a wind screen at the moment

Thank you TPC for that picture of a very wet peregrine.  I had a very big "PHEW" coming out of my mouth.  Glad to see that the building is acting as a barrier to the driving rain.
