1030 hrs (local) - Princess is currently on the eggs, got her head half-way down but her tail is in the corner up against the wall so the north wind doesn't seem to have a chance of flipping her.  Means her head is downwind so that's probably the most comfortable position to be in at the moment.  Because they are in the north corner of the ledge, they might just get fluffed (rather than flipped) often today, they are tucked in there pretty close to the corner and to the wall.  The cam seems to be bouncing more than the birds are getting fluffed so here's hoping it will just be cool and windy today.

2 hours later and it's completely clouded over and the wind has picked up. I think I'll go back to bed - this weather sucks.

Another beautiful morning. Bright blue sky, a few clouds. It's supposed to be partly cloudy of and on all day, with a high of 11.

Calm, peaceful, uneventful is good. Have I missed something. Are the eggs supposed to be happening this long weekend or shortly afterwards. Victoria Long Weekend always meant to me May 24th or so, but this year it seems to be a week earlier or is it 3rd weekend in May. So I hope that cam will be up soon so we can watch the hatchlings!!!!

1945 hrs (local) - the wind has affected the cam more than the birds today, even after it shifted to the south.  They are only getting a little fluffed and have spent most of the day with their heads up, housekeeping, talking to one another, napping, napping, napping.  Overall, a very quiet day on the ledge.

Last shot of the day as the light is starting to fade and the cam is still getting bounced by the wind ... better the cam than the birds even though its annoying to watch!!!

Have posted all the photos I have from today in the Gallery - May 17

From what the weather forecast reads:

Wind is coming from due South at 37 km/h
I wish that would change direction so they are protected from this wind.

Windy. Windy but a warm wind. The sky has started to cloud over - actually had about 15 minutes on the balcony with sun.
No idea how the kids are fairing, depends on the direction 5 blocks up.
1 minute later not so strong, just the occasional gust. But that could change in a heartbeat.
I used to think that El nino was great, now I think he sucks.
And now the wind is getting stronger. Sheeeeeeesh.

1300 hrs (local) - Trey is talking to Princess on the sign above him.  He tilts his head sideways and talks at her.  I'd have said he was saying "take over" then he shuggles the eggs, gets more comfortable and closes his eyes.

The cam is getting shaken alot right now, not may clear screen captures as a result.  Wind is still from the southwest so Trey is not getting hit with much/any wind though.  Hope it stays this way ...

I was just coming home from shopping and decided to take a look see up Smith St. Didn't see any human activity but had the most wonderful 3 minutes of seeing, I think it was Princess, do the drop and circle around the east part of downdown. She ended up under the n on the sign.   Wow.
