Princess just turned with chicks from 12 to 7
she is moving the pebbles in front of her.
Chicks look covered
she better enjoy leisure now , soon ,no time fro digging around.
Pokes at shell to her right

12:12
up and rotating around again . Her tail is at 6 and she is facing 1. Looks up quite often, so I am sure Trey is close by
seems much calmer today. A bit of breeze ruffles the feathers

hi all, first post on this blog this year! thanks for the pictures, the chicks are lovely and I have great hopes for the contraption being effective and protective. Good work Tracy!! Looks a little windy there, then again, isn't it most of the time?! wonderful to see Princess & Trey  :D

1145 hrs (local) - all is quiet, Princess still on the chicks.  She's facing the building, I suspect to keep the chicks in the shade now as it is getting close to midday.  When the sun goes behind the Hotel in the next couple of hours and if the air temperature stays high, we could see more chick piles this afternoon than this morning.  Would help too if the wind would shift to say the west ....

1146 hrs (local) - nuts, she just shifted 160 degrees ...

1030 hrs (local) - Princess is stuffing chicks under her again after having had a nice big stretch.  Its warm enough that she doesn't need to tuck down on the chicks to keep them warm - just means more viewing opportunities!

IN my house 'fluffing' is a polite word for an entirely different sort of , um, bodily function.  yes you needed to know that   :P

it certainly seems the edges of the bin are helping with the wind.  Good job!

There's some fidgeting and changing of positions going on now as everyone was getting comfy. A sight of fluffy white chick under the chin, but nope, she's turned the other way and now we have an excellent view of tail feathers.
