Whew, 3 lively chicks. Don't scare us like that Princess.  For anyone checking in later now that Princess has covered up the chicks again, that white bird at the bottom right in the box is NOT a chick.

I hope that too Moonstar.  I caught a glimpse of one chick under Princess on the left.

It is cold out there. -3  There is frost on the cars and the roof across from me.
I just checked in on the Falcon Cam.  There is something white sticking out from under Princess.  It does not look good.  I hope it is the remainder of the last meal they had.

Uhm....  it's dark.    But for once I'm the first to start the current day observations (technically for me it's still June 5, but for P&T it's June 6.  and dark.)

heck - the whole dead 'other kind of bird' makes my sis so ick she won't watch the cam anymore, much as she thinks the chicks are cute.  Thanks for the reminder! (Holly's birds are a tasty snack?) eww

It will be alot easier Ballywing when you watch the cute fuzzy chicks in 4 weeks rending the flesh from a meal dropped off by their parents ...

Ahhhh - well there we go! Makes perfect sense, thanks TPC!! - sometimes we need to be reminded that these are wild predatory birds with strong instincts who know what they're doing  (except when it comes to choosing East Nestledges over West Penthouses) - as opposed to the sweet fuzzy birdie family we see them as!~

So I wonder - in a case like tonight where we expect frost - and the chicks not easy to cover up anymore - how come we never ever see BOTH parents do 'Tent' duty together    

Both adults together means that both adults could be trapped in one place if attacked.  You will never see the two of them in such a situation.  One bird close by to be the first line of defense, second bird on/at the nest to be the last line of defense.

what day do you do it TPC. I have seen them do it all different ages this year.
