One questing, when does the chick begin to I think it is call "Fledge"?

Fledging is the (hopefully successful) first flight.

Morning all, and thanks for the nice catch-up reports.   I appreciate the wide view and being able to see all the chicks, and I do hope that one north of the nest box doesn't go farther north!  Otherwise I'm gonna call that one Waldo, so when people ask where "chick #3" is I can say "you mean Where's Waldo?"
(please tell me others get the reference)

I get your reference.  LOL

TPC I personally like a view of the whole ledge. Can always double clik to make it bigger. We'll lose some resolution by doing that, but at least all chicks can be seen.

Feeding time!  I cannot believe how big they're getting.

And hello to everyone!  I've been watching the falcons since last year but this is my first post!  :D

HOOORAY and welcome.  Just watch out for the chief trouble makers and bottle drainers on here, like BccS and that Loriann.  Those are the bad kids... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

SAY WHAT?   taking my name in vain again.. geeeez.  someone needs a spanking  and its not me, for a change..   :P

well I have finally done it, I have posted.  I love this site and watching the birds.  i am a nature lover and am amazed as to the progress the chicks are making.  I was watching this morning about 30 minutes ago and got a bit nervous as the little chick by the vent was not moving and then finally she lifted her head.  I breathed a long sigh of relief.  Love to get to know you all.

I see it as a natures gift to us all to have the chicks keep us entertained.

One questing, when does the chick begin to I think it is call "Fledge"?  The othere intersting thing is that the falcons can mate with their own family.  That was amazing to me.

Keep up the great work Tracy.

I'm still undecided  ???  about how wide is okay for good viewing, but we will find a happy medium out there ...

looks like a couple of the chicks are by the ledge edge as if awaiting a delivery from mom or dad!  watching them lumber over was a hoot.

(the next post I do makes me an old bird, which I am painfully aware of as bccs keeps noting it...)

OH, I see that it is feeding time again! So cute! I also see that the carcass is still on the ledge that was left there from last nights feeding.

...that lone chick by the wall - is it struggling to get up?  Or just telling off it's siblings, trying to get in a snooze?  (I'm put in mind of the poor chick that flipped itself off the roof a couple of seasons ago...)

That poor chick (named Taku) actually had had a stroke a few days before and half of brain was necrotic and it was affecting her ability to hold up her head and her balance so she was unable to right herself or to have any depth perception and she tipped herself over the edge of the old nestbox.  There is a high, relatively wide edge on the nestledge and these chicks all appear to be healthy ... so nothing to worry about at this point ...

I have a question for TPC or my fellow phanatics.  Over on the CBC comment section - which I don't read a lot because it frustrates me - there is lots of chatter oabout the "runt".  Do peregrines have runts or is the size difference just because of the difference in hatching times?

There isn't a runt to this clutch - all the chicks hatched out in less than a day so they are all the same age and same size.  I have no idea where the question of a runt came up, but I don't have enough time to follow along with the CBC comment section so the CBC comment posters are going to have to either come over here to be edumacated (as one of our phanatics likes to say) or they are just going to have to keeping wondering I'm afraid!!
