The corner chick is definitely alert, propped up against the ledge and just watching as the other two snooze. No, wait, one more awake -- well, awake for a minute, just long enough to pop up a head and then back to sleep.

Well, maybe if they hang out there the gravel will get spread around and tamped down so that it's not high enough for mishaps.

yeah, I know.  but she said that may happen, but that if one of her brothers stays and hangs out it may not.

so, let's hope the two that hang out together are brother and sister, and the loner is the other brother.  :)

We'll keep our talons crossed that the brother's peregrine hang with their sister til she fledges!

Yeah and now that we are talkinga bout it that one by the corner seemed a bit close but she did a poop shot and turned to sit facing the two sleeping chicks.

The only thing that bothered me about the CBC tv piece was they mentioned the lost chicks. I know it was put this year into perspective but it just tugged at my heart ya know?

I put my hand up to cover the screen.  I couldn't watch it last year and still can't. :'(

no worries!  And I imagine they will be peering over the ledge and giving us heart attacks soon enough.  but as TPC points out, they are cliff nesting birds and it would be seriously poor genetics that would have a cliff-nesting bird "fall"

fledge too early, that's a whole different worry...   ::)

TPC did talk about the female fledging too early in her radio interview.

They have made no attempt to climb up to the ledge yet.

my apologies

I wondered about the pile of gravel in the corner there.  Just worried that the chicks might be climbing up on the ledge to check out the world.   ;D

They are all piled on top of the nesting remains, must give them a bit of a better look at the world around them.
