0905 hrs (local)

Had a peak with the spycam and no sign of our young visitor, think s/he has probably resumed their southward journey.  Will keep an eye on the building though looking for him/her or the remains of his/her meals ... nothing on the band number yet, could take a few months or I could know in an hour from now - probably the former based on past experience ...

Well, we have peregrines in the west and downtown -- maybe she and a mate could be peaceful pioneers and settle the north, east, or south. Wouldn't that be something?

South perhaps, there is a territory there with a successful history but to the north and east there just isn't anything that works for a nestsite.  Problem is, we can't explain where the "good" sites are, birds tend to go for the best and that's the Radisson, and they are willing to fight for them, which we don't want.

Having said all that, nothing we can do but wait for the Spring ... only 5 months to go!! ;)

So do you think our little visitor will give a favourable report on Winnipeg? Maybe a few stars in the peregrine dining guide?

Though I love the idea of a new peregrine, I would really rather avoid territorial battles - screws up the nesting and the parents for the first couple of months ...

Haven't seen our visitor since Saturday so it may be that s/he has resumed his/her migration south.  I have a band number and I will keep an eye on the "lists" to find out who they were and where they were from.  If the band doesn't turn up on the "lists", then I'll start contacting the gang for assistance.

Will let you know what I hear, when I hear it.

And if anyone sees her/him on the building over the next little while, be sure to post it here, I'd love to get a few more chances to look at that band ...

Just finished reading many pages on this thread - the last time I was online the thread crashed every time I tried to access it.

What a beautiful visiting juvie! Great photos, TPC! I hope you'll be able to have a clear view of the bands.

Wow!!!!
I have not been on line and when I come in what a treat. What a beautiful falcon.

I would imagine whoever it is will be heading off soon. Will be interesting to see if TPC gets an identification.
I will have to check in more often.
Still catching up on things.

Nice shots , what I could see TPC.

Whoever she is, she's one gorgeous falcon! Wonder if she's planning on wintering over and is stockpiling food for the months ahead? Somebody should tell her the pigeons are here all winter. No shortage of flying Kraft dinners.
