Allikat, do you remember when you, Tracy & I were watching from the parking lot - Vesper was making attempt after attempt to land on the towers on top of the Rogers bldg - she looked just as lost today!

doing well bccs.  I think Vesper is a one woman show.  Do you think she will find a mate that wioll accept her?

well, it's been my experience with Vesper that she does what she wants, when she wants and pays no attention whatsoever to her parents. So, I'm thinking  that our
girl will tell everyone to take a hike, my life, my decisions. ( and I'm sure that you can fill in the words that I really want to say) :P
How's that for pg13 TPC??   :-*

I remember Bev telling us about Cassie and Hope last year before they left the U of A site, they circled and circled as if putting the site to mind before their migration.  Surely the snow should awaken her instincts!

She really did seem kind of 'lost' flying around the Radisson - around and around, trying to land in strange places, then finally back to the sign.  That's two days now for her hanging about on the sign.  No sightings of Princess or Trey for a few days now.

But, is it really okay that she is still at the nestsite?  Isn't it way past when juvies usually migrate?  What if she doesn't go and can't support herself over the winter?

I'll have to agree with you on the I.D. Pam. Size and trying to do the impossible, sounds just like her. ;D

Here (and this is another reason I think it is Vesper) she is trying (and not succeeding) to land - we saw her do this a few times earlier in the season -

SNOW??? You have SNOW downtown??? Oh, no . . . isn't it terrible how often our weather forecasters are so often right when the news is bad? Now that there's snow around (10-15 cm forecast for western Manitoba for tomorrow), I wonder how much longer the peregrines will stay around?

Great to see a juvie there, Pam! Thank you so much for the photos.

ditto from me
I was thinking today that I would like to head south and wondered again about "our" falcons in this rapidly cooling city.

You're right, Saoirse, I am lucky!  The juvie has now moved to the top of the R again - my guess is still Vesper.....

Pam, I've said it before -- but I DO envy you that wonderful vantage point you have. How terrific it must be to look out and see one of our birds so close. Driving home last night, I thought I saw a falcon flying out toward the end of Pembina, but I can't be sure. It looked to be the right shape and colouring, and the flight style looked right -- but I'm new enough to this that I don't know for sure. I'd like to think it was, though!
