Phoebe is still working on her nest.  You'll see her in the mornings bringing in material.
No eggs yet folks....soon - but not yet.

Thanks for letting us know that the morning is the best time to see Phoebe hard at work on her nests, allikat! :D Whenever I tune in, all I see is a rose bush.  ::)

I have been actively watching this site for quite some time now.  Phoebe is really really busy making her nest, especially in the mornings if any of you are interested in watching the cam.
Reports are that she was making 2 nests, however, she has been concentrating on one particular rose bush branch.  The people are a lot of fun and the chatter back and forth is a lot of fun!

I suggest to watch the cam in the mornings as you will see a hummingbird in action!   ;D

According to the website, Phoebe is back and has been fast at work, building 2 new nests, although which nest she will lay her next clutch of eggs in is anyone's guess. Maybe we'll see eggs by Christmas! :D

My Kinderchicklets and I had been watching Phoebe and her first 2 eggs of the season. Imagine our disappointment when we opened up the webcam one morning and they had disappeared. :( But I do know that that is part of nature and life. Sad, though, for my Kinderchicklets.  :'( We are patiently waiting for her next clutch.  :)

She is amazing. She seems able to produce eggs in short order. I hope she has better luck this year. The babies are so cool to watch and they develop so fast. It's a great webcam.

Yes, you are right, Elaine. If Phoebe removed the eggs, then she likely knew that they were not viable. I heard alot of crows around the terrritory. Maybe they were damaged by crows and then Phoebe removed them? :-\ Last year, she had 5 clutches! :o Only 3 chicks in total fledged successfully, though. But as you've said, at least we can look forward to another clutch! :)

On Phoebe's Facebook site, someone reported that Phoebe kicked the eggs out of the nest.  If this is true, I expect they were not viable. I am sorry to read this, but the main thing is that Phoebe is o.k., and can still have another clutch.

Just read this on the Hummingbird website...

Both eggs were found on the ground this morning, broken. Phoebe will have another clutch soon.

I imagine it won't be till sometime in December, though, when she will lay more eggs.  :-\ She will likely need to replenish the calcium in her wee little body.

Kinderchick, I can't see any eggs in the nest today; the other day, I saw one.  Are they well hidden?
I'm not sure what happened to Phoebe's eggs, Elaine. :-\ Yesterday, there were clearly 2 eggs in her nest but today when we looked, we couldn't see any eggs either... I'm wondering if a crow came along and ate them, like last year? ??? They are, after all, the size of a tic tac! :o We didn't even see Phoebe or her partner at all this morning. :'(
