Yay for the murderously evil little bird. Sorry for your pain Tracy, but thrilled to hear that Isis has so much pluck!

Really, she was so sweet when I scooped her up!  I can't imagine what bird you are talking about

Report on Isis

Lisa reports that Isis is a murderously evil little bird who tried to gore her through the very thick gloves she wears when working with raptors.  Keep in mind that Lisa has worked with our peregrines for almost as long as I've been with the Project and Perry the Peregrine lives with her, so peregrines and their attitudes are not new to Lisa.  Lisa was being polite when she called her "aggressive", knowing her as long as I have, that translates into murderously evil little bird.  Have to agree with her there.  When I was shifting her to a carrier case before taking her to PWRC, the ungrateful wretch grabbed hold of my thumb with one foot and her beak and clamped down as hard as she could.  Not much blood, lots o'pain.  In fact, the only uninjured party is Isis herself.  Not a mark on her, no soft-tissue swelling, feathers are in perfect condition and she's well-fed.  Did I mention that she doesn't play well with others (people)?  And for those of you about to ask, yes, she has had more food to eat since she was picked up - Lisa provided some quail for after the exam.  And yes again, she will be returned to the Radisson on Friday. I do not however know what time, we both have commitments and we are going to find a time to make the exchange at which point the little miss will go back to the roof of the Hotel and the nestbox.

Empty  nest.   Not what we really want to see.............but, that is the way it will be once all have flown into the blue skies.   Any chance of the outside camera ??? ???

Eye-Spy has been going crazy trying to get a gnarly bug out of the system to get the system to change to one of the other two cameras - the skycam and/or the ledgecam ... see:  http://www.species-at-risk.mb.ca/projects/pfrp/forum/programs/index.php/topic,2189.msg61195.html#msg61195
