Sangria (or something stronger!) all around, I'd say! 

The something stronger is a two-by-four to whack myself into unconsciousness before I go squirrelly!!

Actually, Dennis did send me some grainy band shots that are helping us to think it might be Trey - Trey's black band is on his right leg and it looks to be a full black band there though we can't make out the numbering.  On his left is a silver aluminium band, important because the US Midwest uses a purple aluminium band, so another good sign.  Oh, and US Midwest has been usign bicoloured (black/red and black/green) bands for alot of years, if it was a Midwest Male, he would be very very old, so less likely to be the case.  We have never had birds from Saskatchewan, Alberta or Ontario here so chances are it is one of our wild-hatched males.  Haven't see a photo of this bird's breast yet, well just quickly on the screen on Dennis' camera on a sunny rooftop, which doesn't count, believe me.  What I want to do is be able to compare it to the webcapture I took a couple of days ago and see if its the same bird, so again, narrowing the possibilities ....

You think I'm teasing you?!  Imagine me, I was there, I know what photos the little demon has locked up on those digital cards, I know what his schedule is for the rest of the day, I know he's not going to get to them as soon as I like .... AARRGGHHHHHHH

Dennis and I spent the morning checking our newly renovated (new gravel) nestboxes around town and just as we were about to step onto the roof, we heard cacking coming from outside then heard the cacking from two birds from outside.  Took hand off doorhandle and fished around in knapsacks for cameras and binocs, then stepped out on the roof.  She was up on the tower talking to whomever "he" was - something I haven't seen her doing to date.  He came in and they traded places on the tower for a wee while then they traded again and we went off and sat quietly on the Kensington Building tower.  All was quiet for a bit, we checked the nestbox (they didn't protest) and then we went back to wataching a bi more but they had taken off to hunt to the south. 

So now Dennis is going through 300+ photos of the pair of them and until he does I can't say for sure that it isn't the same male bird I saw earlier this week, but it sure looked different ... more white on the breast for one thing.  But until I see those photos on my 'puter, can't even really make a half-way accurate comment ....

One thing to note, these are raptors and sometimes, they don't "come home".  

Speaking for myself, knowing that is what keeps me anxious and concerned! 

Having said that, Allikat, being reminded about the 2008 dates does help! With any luck at all, Trey will show up in the next day or so and ease our minds.

Hi ya'll...

I know that all of us are getting anxious and excited and somewhat concerned that the "Rockstar" hasn't yet returned.  

One thing to note, these are raptors and sometimes, they don't "come home".  

However, if anyone checked out the link to the photo gallery of 2008, you would of noticed the dates of when Princess returned, the date of when "the other man" visited, as well as the day The King returned.  There are so many more exciting moments ahead of us....
