Yay!! - Go figure, no shouting out windows, chanting up & down streets and making up coaxing verses this year ...and they decide to Nest on the West anyway!!!    - Whatever, that's a GOOD thing!!

Sure looks like they are going to go for the nestbox .... this is what Princess and Trey have done for years on the west-side of the hotel at this time of the year!

Ivy seems to be getting the hang of sitting on curved letters. Our young man has a good learning curve. He will need it when the chicks hatch!

When I arrived at work  at 7:05 ,IV was flying to the nest and now Princess ( I think) is looking out on the West nest.....Tracy you promised to go check the nest this weekend.....Please, pretty Please!!! I'm hoping,fingers crossed and eyes crossed.

I use binocs, a scope and my camera (which I can then use to zoom in and have a closer look!).  I have gotten it wrong on many occasions - sent a picture to Tracy of Princess, and she comes back with "nice shot of Trey!".  Princess is bigger, for sure, and has a lot of 'flecks' higher on her breast.  Ivy has a pretty white 'clean' breast, and I think is darker all over.

I've seen photos of both Ivy and Princess (of course), but could you tell me what helps you most to tell them apart from a distance.  Size should work, but I really have trouble otherwise.  Maybe I need better binoculars or a spotting scope ( sounds expensive).
