Y'all have been very patient, particularly in the face of Larry's teasing you with non-details. We have 4 eggs in the box, all look happy. Ivy and Princess are stuck together like glue (its very cute and something particular to these two) and incubation has begun. So looks like we will have a hatching about the Victoria Day Weekend. And yes, there are photos out there of the eggs and the adults. Dennis will post soon (now that I have announced) and I have already blogged about it (
www.species-at-risk.mb.ca/peregrines/blog).
Now about the camera, and why Larry was teasing you all. Yes, we did test all the cameras, 2 of the 3 (the two y'all will be watching) are working fine but that doesn't mean we will be going online yet. The cables have been outside for 3 years now which exponentially increases our concerns that the signal may fail sometime during the season. So we have a wee bit of work to do - some new hardware on our end and some on CBC's end so that is next on the agenda. We usually go live in the week to ten days before hatching and I would suspect that we willl be doing the same thing this year, but more on that when we have a definite date/time set.
Hatch countdown begins ....
