I was thinking that too Doreen - but hope that it was just the angle and the 4th was tucked in behind.

Parent was very restless and went to stretch his/her wings for a few minutes. May have been Ivy (?).  Parent is now back and sitting comfortably on the eggs.

I saw the cleaning, too and had to laugh - reminds me of someone else who loved to clean!

Its not particularly cold out and with the sun shining in the box its warmer than the surrounding area, so eggs left alone are okay.  Madame, the resident female here before Princess used to regularly leave the eggs uncovered during incubation.  Perhaps she was a very warm bird or she just made use of the sun and warm weather to help give herself a bit of a break.  She used to sit on the front of the box and just watch the world and her eggs.  It was very serene ... until she would spot me then she'd start spitting nails  :D

Just dropped by for another look and there they were -- the eggs, all by themselves, without a parent in sight!

Today was my first chance to check out the new web cam -- it looks great! It'll be really interesting once the eggs hatch and there are little chicks to watch, doesn't look as though there will be any blind spots.

I was sure that I saw her crown too when I checked a minute ago. Also, she seems to occupy more space than little Ivy.

Shift change!

I think Princess took over . . . I need more practice with the fish-eye lens and getting to know Ivy, but I think I glimpsed Princess's crown. The afternoon sun is starting to shine into the box.

I'm thinking it's still Ivy, snowy breast and quite small.
Looks like Princess trusts him with a long shift!

I had some good timing this morning.  Opened the cam and the eggs were bare - so I watched for a while until Ivy (I think) came back and shuggled down.  Adorable!   ;D

Thanks to all for making the webcam possible again this year!

Looks like Ivy on the eggs now: all crouched down, tail tip against the back of the box, head facing out, keeping watch.
