Saw dad shading the eggs today as well. Must be pretty darn hot in the sun.

Sun is blazing right on them - but as the sun moves, they'll have shade again before too long ??? .. luckily it cools down nicely in the evening so a few more hours and they should be fine!  8)

??? Is it me or is there distress in the nest? When I look at the nesting site, I wish Princess had laid the eggs back further than where they are now. They are exposed to the west sun and it will only get worse in these temps. When I look at the sitting parents, they open their beaks and appear to be saying, "water, water".

Yes, ballywing, he sure looks like he's getting all hot and bothered up there! But what a good dad he is, trying to shade the eggs like that! :D

He's forming an umbrella over the eggs! - Not sitting right on them, just shading them. What a good Dad.  ;D ;D - Looks like he's doing some grumbling about the heat though.  ;)

1230 hrs (local) - shift change and Ivy's on duty now - had a bit of trouble getting all the eggs back under him, doesn't look like any hatching yet, though it did look like Princess has left a couple of white down feathers behind - Ivy was cleaning them off the eggs/gravel as he was trying to get settled.  He's also tucked himself and the eggs back entirely undercover.  I was able to see Princess' head/tail while she was incubation on the new SkyCam but can't see so much as a millimeter of him now.
