Hey there Kinderchick,

Hope all is well with you...perhaps you can answer my question as to how many days have the eggs been incubated for now??

Thanx Cara

Hey Gem, Kinderchick...or anyone,

How long have Princess/Ivy been sitting on the eggs for...or in other words what day is this. Are we close to the 29-32 days that I have been reading about?

Thanx,

Have been watching cant tell who is sitting on the eggs...at about 7:38 pm Princess/Ivy was sitting on the ledge looking at the other sitting on the eggs...there was no shift change.  The ledge sitter took off.

Strange observation about 5 minutes ago. Mom/Pop seemed to have had head buried in stones. Appeared to be a little skittished. Just my opinion. In case the chicks hatch tomorrow, I think a female should be named Victoria in honour of May 24th, Victoria Day in Canada.  Gemini (GCG) :)

Just tuned in a few minutes ago, in time to see a shift change. I think that Princess just left and Ivy is on now, but I can't be absolutely sure. :-\

Hi Gale! It is 4:20 P.M. local time and what you are seeing is "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west". The sun is casting a glow on the nest from the west. Maybe the warmth of the sun will hasten the hatching of the chicks. Gemini, AKA GCG. :)

Okay - I'm puzzled ::) I just checked the cam and appears that a trench has been dug across the nest box. Is this new or am I just seeing it now because the nest is in full sun?

Hey there Gale,

Now you got me lookin...I do believe you thought is correct beeing in full sunlight...we see the nest differently. So very attentive mom and dad are...arent they? :)

There was a shift change at 0635 hrs (local), Princess off, Ivy on.  Saw all the eggs.  Neither one of the birds before or after the shift change have been antsy, Princess had been asleep on the eggs for a couple of hours before that with only a couple of position changes.  And I haven't observed any "listening" behaviour so far ....

Ivy is sitting very quietly. A teeny bit of fluff on the lower left side is moving in the breeze so I know he's not frozen by the camera.

Hoping for today :D
