Feeding in progress - Ivy appeared with another something, checked the situation and must have decided the chicks had enough so left with it - maybe planning on having a little snack himself. Not very big, whatever it was.

I was wondering if Ivy was hatched in the nestbox? If so, would that be part of the reason he seemed to prefer it? I seem to remember a previous post in which someone (maybe TPC) said that Trey had been a east ledge hatch and therefor had a preference for it.

love the photo, thanks for posting it...soooo cute.  I am so happy they are protected from the rain.  It is raining so hard in Fort Garry right now which is not that far from down town.

:-* May 28 - Day Four    Good morning to our royal family lying there in the dark. I seem to be away during feeding times. Hope I have better timing today. TLC, when will our little ones start motoring around the nest? I would love to see that. I'll be back a little later at daylight.

Not until next week Gem I don't think Gem, its going to be raining here until Monday and they can't thermoregulate until they are about 10 days old, so I don't think Princess or Ivy will be taking many chances this weekend ... could be wrong, but that's my best guess.  And motoring is relative, they will be doing the butt-scoot next week.  Running around will take a couple more weeks  :D

Today is a gray day, with the storm clouds and rain making the day pretty dark.  Looking out my window I can see the parking lot lights in the little strip mall across the street (site of the Henderson branch of the Winnipeg Library).  They go off automatically when there is enough light every morning.  They are still on, as if it were already twilight.

Oops, more lightning, about 4/5 of a mile away from the old school of seconds after the flash times 1100 feet.

Wow! I just saw a flash of bright light from lightning somewhere else in the area.  I'm several klicks up on Henderson, roughly at the Curtis Gordon, and I didn't hear the thunder.  Still it was strange to see lightning light when my own sky is clearing (monitor faces the window).
...must have been the one that took out one corner of the spire on Knox United church on Edmonton - tyndall stone all over the stairs & road - the street is closed...

That was one determined chick Princess had to tuck in again.  It was funny, "Oh no you don't, chicklet.  You're not ready to charge out looking for food yet."  Now everyone's all tucked in under mommy.

...nice feeding going on; ivy brought the food, then watched over the distribution for a minute or so, then took off - princess had some rather large pieces for distribution, one of which she had to take back from one of the chicks, since it was too big (she actually had to struggle a bit to get it back out of the chick's beak - the chick was pretty determined to hold on to it!)  Better views now of all 4 chicks, seeing as the two in front keep keeling over in their eagerness for breakfast...

Ivy just brought food and Princess is feeding the chicks.  My first time seeing a live feeding!  Getting a late start on my day has its advantages!

Seeing Princess, determinedly protecting those chicks from the storm, brings back sad memories of her stoic efforts two years ago.  What a joy to know that this time, she'll be successful.  Such a good mom!

It's good to see the falcons in out of the weather.  It doesn't show, but we have been having thunderstorms since I would guess about 4:30 A.M.  There was a real loud crash about 6:30 A.M, and we just had a bunch of grumbles at 7:30.  All in all I'm happy to see whomever is sitting the eggs and chicks undercover.
