They're all crowding around the camera -- surprising how they fill up the nestbox now.

Just watched the banding video - almost as good as being there - almost :P

The chicks are so cute!  I loved the close-ups of their little, confused faces.  They sure loved to holler at you guys!  I'm sure it was quite the racket!

Now they seem as though nothing's changed.  They're so beautiful and healthy.  Amazing how quickly they grow.

Thanks for the info, TPC.  I can understand your dedication and passion for these fascintating critters for the last 20 years!

My picture is stuttering - was last night too.  Wonder if it's because of that silly soccer ::) ::) ::)

;D ;D ;D ;D The camera is working! I thought because it's pouring out this was the reason I couldn't see a thing.

Lots of winersizing going on - everyone seems to be trying to figure out how wings work. They are getting much better at spreading wings and staying standing. ;D

Can't be much longer till they are giving us heart failure by jumping up on the edge of the ledge. :o

Finally got a chance to watch the banding videos TPC!  Thank you so much!

You are all very welcome ... higher res video will be forthcoming ...

And for those of you interested in coincidences ....

2008 - Radisson chicks hatched on May 28th, died June 6th
2009 - Radisson chicks hatched on May 26th and were banded on June 17th
2010 - the last Radisson chick hatched on May 26th and they were banded on June 16th

Consistent aren't they, even with a change in players ...

Sexing by foot size (and we have a measurement guide) is standard
Is that done with the little tool with varying sizes that we could see Dr. Bob using yesterday?

Yup - its a band sizer - there are lots of sizes of bands for pretty much all species of birds (some of the big ones I think aren't included - like geese and pelicans).  Male peregrines take a size 6, females a 7A or 7B.  Think shoe sizing and you get the idea, shoes are either the right size or not (too big or too small) ...
