Heading back now for a few more hours. I'll let you know what, if anything, I see later.

Big old thunderstorm going on downtown right now, so I thought I'd come home for a bit and give y'all an update.
Got there about 5, no action for a bit, but then Mr. White woke up and started jumping on and off the edge. Lots of flapping, but I don't think he's quite ready just yet. Up goes another onto the edge, more flapping by both. Now when this was going on, it was quite windy, but our birdies were smart enough not to get caught in a cross wind.
About 6, he jumped onto the ledge, and was quickly followed by another. So, two on the ledge, one looking at them and here comes Princess with breakfast. She made a few circles and then landed and dropped off the food in the nest box and then took off. And yes, she was yelling the whole time. ::)
The rain started and the two on the ledge huddled up against the wall, one beside the box and one in the middle. About 6:45 Ivy flew to the Radisson, landed on the ledge, looked at the two chicks and then took off.
And that's about it for now, I'll be going back in a bit, but really don't think it will be today. The wings were drooping after the flapping, not tucked in as they should be.

:P One chick is tearing away at its breakfast. Seriously, I'm thinking I might go vegetarian. I can only see one other walking close to the ledge. The one at the buffet is blocking my view.

Can only make out two in the nest box. Probably the two girls. One on the ledge to the left and one in center fighting with breakfast.  Okay, the ledge sitter has hopped down now.

Someone has his/her back to the camera giving a close up of what wingersizing looks from the rear view.

Great videos of Mr White's return yesterday - my heart stopped a few times and I knew how it ended. lol

The sky is looking awfully dark - although you'd never know it by the glare in the nest box. There was a bit of lightening off to the north. It's 25 with a humidex of 35. Just started with some light rain in Osborne Village - I suspect the chicks will be experiencing same very shortly.

And here it is, at o'dark fifty. Just having my tea, am all washed, dressed and ready to go and watch and watch.    The start of another week of very little sleep, and I'm lovin' it. ;D

Good morning forum, good morning bccs, right here with you. I am having my daily cup (coffee) in front of my computer. Two chicks up and two asleep. Better check my news sites before all the action starts. :)

Hey Little Ones, time to settle.
It is likely to be a big day ahead!
That's right, all four of you, come away from the edge now, and tuck in for the night.

Wow!!  I just read the Adventures of the Royal Radissons, Day 39, and it is so exciting!  Thank-you all for your running commentaries!  It continues to amaze me how important this young family has become to so many people while they blissfully go about their business, cheerfully ignoring us all (except of course when they're being banded)

I haven't been able to watch them all day, but hearing about White's venturing forth and Red's leap to the nestbox edge was as good as watching...

Now, all four are safe for the night.  Tomorrow is a big day for everyone and I for one won't be getting much done around my nest! :)

It could be the last evening for one or two of them to look out and only wonder about the "out there."
Today Mr White expanded his boundary of the known world, and Miss Red got an inkling that more is beyond the nest edge.
So exciting to think of what tomorrow might bring.  Better rest up chicks, you too Phanatics, as we are all in for some big days ahead!

they do look quite majestic sitting looking out over Winnipeg, but I see only three. :(

Chick 4 is in the far corner - every so often you can see her beak ...

Watching them looking out over the city as it is growing dark, they look like robed statesmen or rulers overseeing their kingdom.

I thought the commentaries were quite comical, with the red, green, white and yellow names. :D

Ditto! I love the commentaries because I can't watch during the day . . . . . so reading about the chicks is a great mental health break at lunch time and after work.

That's some lovely close up of "how to disembowel a dead thing".
