Radisson - 2010 / Ivy & Princess

Spent a couple of hours downtown with Kinderchick and enjoyed the views of the Family with my new binocs.  Three kids on top of the Rogers building and Aura just sitting, as she's doing now, looking regal, but, hafta say it, seems a little disinterested in flying anywhere...  She flapped a bit - maybe 10 seconds - while we were watching, a couple of hours.  She's sitting now, looking quite alert, watching her sibs a few buildings away.  Kinderchick and I chatted with bccs, who ditched her work for a bit, and Eye-Spy showed up and then went up to change the thingamajig and clean the lens in the nestbox.  Princess apeared from wherever she'd been perched and flew about wildly, squawking the whole time and then Ivy joined her to defend the nest from the intruding technogod.  Aura, who had been inside the box, having a nap I think, moved over to the north corner of the box and waited for the intrusion to end.  Princess perched on top of the low aeriel and continued squawking.  Ivy had perched already on the tower on the roof of the Rad and coninued to calmly watch the proceedings.  He's very mellow, but watchful and clearly a dedicated and protective dad.

What a thrill to see the parents flying about and hearing Princess squawking for the very first time.  Thanks to Eye-Spy for choosing this morning to clean the lens just so we could enjoy the show!

It's the nest cam view at the moment of little one sitting on the edge, swaying a bit, as if moving in banking turns of flight that she sees happening for her siblings above her.  Come on, Aura, you have to be ready with your muscles, so get exercizing those wings.

Went down to talk with kinderchick and susha and my phone rang. Eye-spy of course. He walked over to us, chatted a bit and then he had to go to the Radissison to change a splitter. So I suppose that's what the lost picture and skycam view was all about.

Thanks everyone for all the fledge info.  So great to know that all is going so well with the "kids"!  Just looking at Dennis' pictures and what a beautiful picture of Loki.  Thor and Isis are no doubt just as "good looking".  Enjoy your day on fledge watch, love your write ups here.  Beautiful day for everyone!
