Very cute video - it's a juvenile robin so may well be imprinted on humans or very comfortable around humans.  Very cute either way ...   :)

i could have fun with one of those - drive the cats crazy, though I'd be afraid of what would happen to it when it came down and they jumped on it.

Plenty of robots can fly -- but none can fly like a real bird. That is, until Markus Fischer and his team at Festo built SmartBird, a large, lightweight robot, modeled on a seagull, that flies by flapping its wings. A soaring demo fresh from TEDGlobal 2011.
