In 1909, The American Power & Light Company organized Kansas Gas and Electric Company. In 1935 merged with United Power & Light and then acquired the Kansas Electric Power Company in 1943. Company operates gas, electric, nuclear and landfill emissions capture power stations. In 1999 they open first commercially-operated wind turbine project in Kansas (project called Westar Wind). In 2002, company's name is changed to Westar Energy. Their headquarters are located in the Westar Energy Building on Kansas Avenue. The building was built in 1961, has 11 storeys and is just over 50 meters (170 feet). The peregrines nest in a box on the roof.

Boreas is that 2007 wild-hatched son and Nemaha is the 2009 wild-hatched daughter of Alley (2004 Radisson) and 19K (2001 Des Moines Iowa) who have been nesting successfully for much of the last 15 years at the State Capital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Boreas and Nemaha are also siblings of Mintaka (2010 Lincoln Nebraska) who is the resident male at Woodmen Tower in Omaha, Nebraska.
Doorly was the son of Zeus and Winnie at Woodmen Tower in Omaha, Nebraska. Winnie is the 1994 wild-hatched daughter of T-Rex (1989 Radisson) and Burnsie (1990 McKenzie Seeds). Hope was his half-sister, she was the daughter of Zeus and his second mate Amelia. It is believed that Doorly destroyed viable eggs for a number of years, but there is no real evidence of that. A second clutch was found to be infertile and as soon as a chick did hatch, he was the perfect parent - feeding, brooding, protecting - not just one year but two (his & Hope's last two). It is entirely possible that the eggs Doorly destroyed were non-viable - we have had birds do that here too - Hurricane and Alley - both successful, experienced breeding females - immediately come to mind.
