2010 NESTING SEASON
The Hartford, Connecticut nest once again has a pair of peregrines laying eggs. On April 10, the female laid her first egg. On April 15, I think there were still two eggs. Today the female is asleep on the nest tray, so I haven't been able to catch a glimpse of the eggs.
I can't confirm who the falcons are this year, but the male (banded black/green) looks to me very much like the resident male, Goldeneye, who is from St. Paul, Minnesota. The resident female also looks like the same one as last year, from Massachusetts.

Is this camera operating yet or to come online when the eggs are closer to hatching? I couldn't get it to open! ???

I was just able to get both cameras to open, Ellie. So I don't know what to tell you. :-\

Both cams have been operating for a while now . . . I haven't had any problems with this site. I hope it's working for you now, Ellie.
This is a long-established nest site, which for years had a resident female named Amelia. Last year there were three chicks, but in 2008 there was not a pair at the nest (occasional sightings of a single falcon), so there were no eggs.

I see she has a little vegetation in her house! Not unlike the ledge here although not as prolific as here. Can't get the camera to work but then my computer does its own thing! I probably have enough sites to watch anyway. Thanks all.

I'm using IE - perhaps it's a browser problem? There are some sites that don't work for me either.

I like the pose in this pic:

She was back on the eggs a minute later.

Too bad one of these adults is not a gardener. The weeds have grown significantly in the past few days!

First hatch today at Hartford!
This pic is from the site:

It's raining there, and Mom is soaking wet, so it's not likely that she will allow any views of the chicks at the moment.

I haven't seen the chick (or chicks) today, but here is one beautiful parent:

There are now three chicks in the nest:

I think there are still three chicks - In one of today's pics I did see an unhatched egg.

One of the chicks became separated from the others ................. but Mom gathered them all up

All four chicks have hatched!
Already, one is a wanderer wannabe:
