One egg was snatched and eaten by a crow a week or two ago. :'( The other egg has hatched recently. Mother is feeding baby chick right now! :D

My husband and I were in Sidney, B.C. this afternoon. It was exciting to think that we were so very close to an Eagle nest that we watch on a webcam at home! ;D We stopped into a tourist info bureau to see if it would be possible to locate the nest so that we could view it in person. We were told that since the nest is located on private property, this wouldn't be possible...Still, very exciting to think that we were close! 8)

Eagle in this nest right now, just looking around! :D
-
One eagle at the nestsight, rocking back and forth. Sure does look windy way up there in the nest!
-
They had hurricane force winds out in BC today no wonder it looks windy way up in the tree.

I hadn't heard about the hurricane force winds until last evening. No wonder it looked so windy up there! :o
Eagle in the nest again right now. :D

Lone eagle in nest right now. :D
-
Last year around this date, bev posted that there were 2 eggs in the nest. :) Well, there has been a single eagle in the nest every time I check in lately. So, maybe she's getting ready to lay some eggs! :D :-\
-
As of March 12th, 3 eggs have been laid at this nestsite! :D
TPC, I was wondering if you would mind replacing the word "Hancock" in the subject area with the words "Victoria/Sidney", to denote the location of the nest. :-* All of the eagle's nest webcams in B.C. seem to come under the Hancock Wildlife Foundation.

Two eaglets at this nestsite. :D Possibly three, but I'm not absolutely certain. :-\
-
Dad just arrived with a fabulous meal of fish. Yum! Yum! :) Looks like there could be 3 chicks? :-\
-
There are 3 eaglets at this nestsite and rcf did post this news on the Eagle News 2011 board, but I thought I would post the link here, as well. It is quite an extraordinary rescue story. :o Lots of people involved. So glad that everything turned out so well. :D

Thanks, RCF, I hadn't seen that view before and was surprised to hear them voice concern over one of the other two chicks. Any idea what was the concern?

They thought one of the other eaglets was tangled in fishing line also, but apparently not. :)
