2009 NESTING SEASON

Only two of the four chicks at this nest still survive. One of those two is in rehab at The Raptor Center. One chick was electrocuted, and one was hit by a car.  :'(

This pair deserved to have things go better for them this year. Last year they also had four chicks; three of the chicks died of Trichomoniasis, and the fourth was very weak and emaciated when he was found at banding. He was treated and recovered. He was named Shaheen, a Persian word for falcon. During migration banding later in the year, he was caught in the nets, and he looked great!
